AYR

Race 6: No1 – GLEN FORCE (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris

FIRST TIME cheekpieces can make the difference for GLEN FORCE who has threatened to score in each of his four outings to date for a stable that has run into its customary hot streak of mid-summer form. The Gleneagles colt needs to put behind him three successive runs when a beaten favourite but in fairness, he’s done little wrong and he’s clear best on the ratings.

Race 7: No8 – BAVARDAGES
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Joe Fanning

Having ended the 2019 campaign with straight wins on the all-weather, BAVARDAGES has maintained a good level of form with a couple of near-misses in that part of the spectrum at Newcastle and Wolverhampton. He unseated his pilot on latest start at Beverley but as a line can safely be drawn through that incident he’s going into battle with a solid chance to put one on the board.

BATH

Race 5: No13 – SUN TIDE
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Harry Bentley

Perennial bridesmaid Rideson is not to be trusted and preference in this interesting maiden is for SUN TIDE. The daughter of Siyouni shaped well on her debut at Kempton and has the wherewithal to improve past her rival whose figures of 22222 cast doubts over her fortitude. In contrast, the selection has worked in great style since her own near miss.

Race 8: No4 – TENFOLD (Nap)
Trainer: Martyn Meade – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

TENFOLD has been unfortunate to run into progressive foes such as Worthily and Alphabetical on his two outings this year. He now finds himself in a very winnable four-cornered affair and should take full advantage of the opportunity.

Race 9: No2 – CAMOUFLAGED
Trainer: Mark Johnston – Jockey: Oliver Stammers

CAMOUFLAGED has served his connections well with two successes on turf since the return of racing and can make this a third. His stable does especially well with this type of performer here, and the fact that the grey came home be seven lengths on latest start at Chepstow entitles him to rate the one to beat, albeit on a far quicker surface.

RIPON

Race 4: No2 – ROUND THE ISLAND
Trainer: Richard Whitaker – Jockey: Phil Dennis

ROUND THE ISLAND is coming to hand quicker than usual and can post a rare success away from his favourite hunting ground of Pontefract. The selection notched a first career win at this track four years ago since when his wins have been confined to Ponty, but it’s interesting that this is his first visit here since that victory. He served notice that he’s on the cusp of a return to the winner’s circle when chasing home Avenue Of Stars last time.

Race 9: No9 – SUMMERBRIDGE (Each Way)
Trainer: James Bethell – Jockey: Josephine Gordon

Although it’s difficult to make a case for her, SUMMERBRIDGE is a well-related filly that could improve now being sent down the handicap route. She’s shown very little in three outings to date but gets in off a featherweight with first-time cheekpieces another factor to consider. And should there be any softening in underfoot conditions she’s bred to appreciate that.

SOUTHWELL

Race 5: No3 – MEDALLA DE ORO (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

MEDALLA DE ORO made a good fist of pinching a similar race at Southwell only to be clawed back by Enemy Coast Ahead on the run in and beaten half a length. He’s come out of that with all guns blazing and is strongly fancied to go one better.

Race 6: No4 – GOODBYE DANCER
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Paddy Brennan

The key to GOODBYE DANCER is freshness from a break as is the case today. He scored on his first run for O’Brien last season before his form fell apart, but that trainer has had time to find out more about him. He’s up against a couple of stern rivals in Rhythm Is A Dancer and Soupy Soups but price-wise he is the value play.
