Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from Monday’s racing coming your way from the Leicester, Windsor, Lingfield Park, and Perth.
LEICESTER
Race 5: No12 – SANSEVERO
Trainer: James Tate – Jockey: PJ McDonald
Standing out as the least experienced runner in the field, SANSEVERO has room for improvement on only a second start for his trainer. He delivered on his only juvenile start when with another stable, and returned from a six month break to finish second to Ajyaall in a Haydock novice. The assessor might have found him hard to accurately weigh up for this handicap debut.
Race 6: No5 – TEDDY B (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Joe Fanning
The diminutive TEDDY B was out of his depth in a nursery at Lingfield when badly drawn. However, he’d shown promise on both previous outings at Bath and should benefit sufficiently from this class drop to get into the argument.
WINDSOR
Race 4: No8 – SIXNTWOTHREES (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
SIXNTWOTHREES is getting better with every run, and makes strong Each Way appeal on this first venture into a handicap. The daughter of Sixties Icon hails from a family her trainer knows all about and finished clear of the remainder when chasing home Night Moment in anLingfield novice on turf last month. She is bred to enjoy today’s step up to a mile.
Race 5: No2 – GOLDEN PASS (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
Freshened up since opening her account in game fashion in a Beverley maiden back in June, GOLDEN PASS is going to appreciate a step up to a mile and a half and can carry on that good work. She faces strong competition from unbeaten Haydock winner Dhabyah, but is a beautifully-bred individual that should pay to follow through the autumn.
LINGFIELD PARK
Race 6: No4 – BLAIRLOGIE (Nap)
Trainer: Laura Mongan – Jockey: Grace McEntee
BLAIRLOGIE troubled the judge in three of his four starts after racing resumed and can shown with a first career success here that he’s benefitted from a change of scenery. He’s going to compete on ideal underfoot conditions over his optimum trip, and should again be in the shake-up.
Race 8: No7 – DANCING JO
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass
Having been compromised by a poor draw when third to Platinum Prince on the Polytrack here, DANCING JO finds himself with the boot on the other foot. This time he’s been blessed with the rail in a race round a bend, and if running up to the level of either of his starts this season should go very close.
PERTH
Race 5: No14 – HEY BOB (Each Way)
Trainer: Chris Grant – Jockey: Sean Quinlan
The strong travelling HEY BOB is likely to get a fast pace to aim at in this handicap hurdle in which he can earn at lengthy odds. He served notice he’s getting close to another win by making the frame on his return to action over course and distance last month, an effort that has blown away any cobwebs.
Race 6: No4 – CRAIGMOR (Nap)
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Richard Johnson
CRAIGMOR can show he’s back in his comfort zone by making a winning return to fences in this handicap chase. He impressed on his first run back in a chase at Market Rasen and the horse that beat him in a handicap hurdle here last time (Chocolate Noir) has won since.
