VICTORY SCHOLARS finished runner-up behind Oriental Smoke after a six-month layoff. He should strip a much fitter horse and has strong claims with Purton in the irons. DOUBLE SHOW has trialled since his last effort when 3rd behind Lucky Quality over this C&D. The Whyte-Hewitson combination are in-form and he should be one of the leading contenders.

NOBLE ONE made good natural improvement in his second outing when beaten a neck by Cheval Valiant over this C&D. It is encouraging that Purton has kept faith in the ride and the pair look one of the better bets on the card. EL JEFE is likely to settle off the pace. He shoulders a light weight and should be doing his best work late.

AMAZING VICTORY brings consistent recent form into this contest and has the advantage of jumping from pole. He finished runner-up behind Massive Action over this C&D last time and will have plenty of followers. SURE JOYFUL was only beaten a length by Free Foal over this C&D last time. He looks nicely handicapped with 56kgs to shoulder and can give a good account of himself.

EIGHT TRIGRAMS was only beaten half a length over this C&D last time by Super Fortune. He shoulders a handy galloping weight and could be one to cause an upset. POWER KOEPP was given a peach of a ride last time to get up and beat Seven Heavens. He should be in peak condition and can make it quick back-to-back wins.

SENOR TOBA won a Grade 3 over this distance in fine fashion last time. He has already proven his stamina and should take a power of beating in the Standard Chartered Chater Cup. BUTTERFIELD was beaten a couple of lengths by the top selection last time and is now 3.5kgs better off at the weights.

MY INTELLIGENT was beaten a neck over this C&D last time. He is likely to settle just off the pace and should be right there if not caught 3-wide. PLIKCLONE finished right behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on similar weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them when they hit the line.

GOLDEN EMPIRE has cracked a neat draw and is looking for his fourth win this season. He was beaten narrowly last time by Super Ten and the French-bred will be looking to make amends. CIRCUIT STELLAR finished a couple of lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result.

SUPER WEALTHY finished alongside SKY FIELD in the Grade 1 Chairman’s Sprint. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights and looks set to record his seventh career victory. NERVOUS WITNESS steps up in class for another acid test. He shoulders a light weight, is loaded with ability and can run into the money.
11:10 – Race 10 | Class 3 Handicap | 1600m

ROYAL BOMB has found one better in his last three outings. He managed to finish just in-front of LEADING FORTUNE in his last start and on form looks hard to oppose. The only concern is that he hasn’t won a race this year. MALDIVES produced a good comeback effort when beaten a neck by Super Ten over seven furlongs. He often moves up with intent in his races and will just need to overcome the wide draw to have a say.

SUPERBELLA has been narrowly beaten in his last two starts. The form of his penultimate run catches the eye when close-up behind Rise Brethren and he definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. COPARTNER ELITES ran on strongly from the rear of the field last time when beaten a nose by Looking Cool over a mile. He is a versatile sort and the step up in distance should pose no concern.
