Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 6: DHABYAAN(11)
Jockey: Calvin HABIB – Trainer: Mike De Kock
The de Kock inmate
DHABYAAN has been a revelation since the gelding and he eventually pegged back the game
NORLAND (1.5kgs better off) over this c & d at a slightly lesser level two weeks ago. The four-year-old was upped seven pounds for his exertions but he has clearly got his career back on track and should continue to progress.
Race 7: ALL AT ONCE(4)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY – Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS
The day’s topliner is a highly competitive Listed sprint which sees the fast improving
ALL AT ONCE renew her rivalry with the high-class former Grade 1 winner
MIGHTY HIGH. Of course the former found extra to beat the latter by three parts of a length over this c & d last month and the pair clash on similar weight terms here, though the top selection is best weighted on official ratings.
TOP BET FOR TODAY
Race 8: ORAVAR(8)
Jockey: Kabelo MATSUNYANE – Trainer: Mike/Adam AZZIE
The blinkers worked a charm for the consistent and improving four-year-old
ORAVAR who trounced his handicap rivals over this c & d two weeks ago. He was expectedly raised the maximum eight pounds for his effort but the progressive son of Oratorio still has much more to offer and his conditioner has engaged the services of an in-form 4kgs claiming apprentice in this higher company today.
Race 9: PRINCESS LOMITA(15)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON – Trainer: Alec LAIRD
The daughter of Silvano,
PRINCESS LOMITA was unfancied when she ran on strongly for 2nd on her promising debut over seven furlongs behind Greener Pastures (good 2nd in assessment company next time out) on this track last month. She finished exactly four lengths clear of the next placed entrant and would have come on appreciably from the experience. The bay filly represents an in-form yard and she should relish the extra furlong on her pedigree.
VALUE BET
Race 3: THREE DOG NIGHT(12)
Jockey: Hennie GREYLING – Trainer: Weiho MARWING
THREE DOG NIGHT enjoyed the slight rise in distance when he made decent late progress from a wide draw over seven furlongs in his second outing. He was comfortably beaten by the 3rd placed runner GOLD LIGHTNING that day but should relish the mile on pedigree & he jumps from a much kinder draw this time around.
