CAPTAIN FLYNT returns from a 10 week rest but had solid form to his name prior to that. The booking of Gavin Lerena for the ride may suggest that the stable are expecting a big run from him.

TRIPOD is a speedy sort who was only caught very late in his last start over this minimum distance. It is encouraging that Lyle Hewitson retains the ride.

TIRZAN has consistent staying form to his name as is illustrated by the fact that all five of his wins to date have come over this trip. He did finish 0.5L in front of SEATTLE FORCE in their last clash over the c&d and is in fact 0.5kg better off at the weights.
