The well-bred Tarry inmate AFRICAN DAISY expectedly progressed smartly when trying the mile in a decent line-up at the Vaal second time out and the daughter of Captain Al should relish this extra furlong. She will strip fitter and is sure to enjoy this galloping circuit.

The evening’s topliner is a competitive mile and a half Pinnacle Stakes contest which features nine entrants. The bay mare ARTE is in good form and she is slightly best weighted with her low mass of just 50.5kgs.

MATTINA enjoyed the step-up in distance as she ran on strongly for a close 2nd behind the well ridden start to finish winner KISSMEINMYDREAMS over nine furlongs on this track last month. She is 3kgs worse off today but of course had some issues on that occasion and her experienced jockey should sort out those problems this time around. The bay daughter of Await The Dawn should easily cope with the extra furlong and that may not necessarily be the case for her conqueror.

HIGHLANDER plainly found the ten furlongs too sharp for him when three lengths behind KINGS CUP last time out but this mile and a half suits him better and he meets penultimate conqueror WONDEROUS CLIMB- ER on 2.5kgs better terms for a 1.30 lengths c & d defeat.
