He should relish the extra furlong. Of course that formline was boosted when the runner-up CYBER SPECIAL fought back well to emerge victorious subsequently but the mile may pose an issue for the latter.

The unbeaten BOLD EAGLE felt the hefty weight close to home as he just lasted to defeat CIRILLO in a feature over a similar trip on this track last month but he is 5kgs better off with the latter and is strongly favoured to maintain his 100% record.

LIKE A PANTHER has struck up a fine partnership with this youngster who has enjoyed much success on this ‘big’ day. The bay son of Captain Al had a most creditable last comeback performance in the Classic when staying on for 3rd and he will strip much fitter now. His pedigree and racing style, coupled with this galloping circuit, indicates that he will excel over this marathon trip and the de Kock inmate can make amends for his Cape Derby flop.
