Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 1: COASTAL TORRENT(1)
Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: R Sage
COASTAL TORRENT expectedly enjoyed racing on this tight circuit as the costly to follow son of Great Britain produced a smart last effort over an extra furlong. Of course the bay was returning from an 11 week absence so should strip fitter and can go one better over this minimum distance. He will relish the likely strong tempo.

Race 2: FESTIVE LINNGARI(6)
Jockey: S KHUMALO – Trainer: J Janse VAN VUUREN
FESTIVE LINNGARI would have learnt from his first track experience in a workrider’s event earlier this month and the bay gelding should be an entirely different proposition today. He had some useful prior form and his frontrunning tactics, coupled with pole position, should stand him in good stead on this circuit.

Race 5: UNAGI(1)
Jockey: M KHAN – Trainer: G Alexander
UNAGI produced a high class recent performance when 3rd behind the brilliant milers Legal Eagle and Nother Russia at the highest level and though the latter pairing flopped subsequently, this chestnut gelding drops in class and should stake a huge claim. It is worth noting that he has been defeated just once from five c & d attempts.

UNAGI(1) |
Race 6: BUFFALO BILL CODY(4)
Jockey: B FAYD’HERBE – Trainer: M De Kock
BUFFALO BILL CODY underlined his above-average quality when he snatch an almost impossible sprint victory on his track debut recently & the imported son of Redoute’s Choice is undoubtedly progressive. He meets more hard-knocking handicappers here but should relish the step-up in distance and could be worth following.

Race 4: FORTUNE FELLA(11)
Jockey: J PENNY – Trainer: D LITTLE
FORTUNE FELLA had a decent last attempt behind TAPENZEE (5kgs worse off) despite racing wide over slightly further and the c & d specialist should be competitive off his low mass. The latter also has an affinity for this tight circuit and despite being heavily under sufferance the striking grey can stake another claim.
