MOVER AND SHAKER made the expected natural improvement when finishing second over 1000m on the Inside course. He showed good pace, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Mescal. The son of Rafeef is a progressive type and with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle, he can go one better.
Race 2: INEVITABLE (7)
Jockey: Yeni M – Trainer: Botes B/Vosloo
INEVITABLE ran a good race when finishing second over 1200m at the Vaal last time. She challenged strongly all the way to the line, but found one too good in the form of Time For Glory who has finished second in a Grade 2 since. Unless one of the first timers have quality about them, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

NAVAL GUARD was super-impressive when winning his last start over 1800m on the Inside course. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Elusive Fort has been nominated for the Hollywoodbets Durban July which suggests that his trainer thinks highly of him. From pole position, he should notch up his fourth career victory.
Race 7: DROGHIERE (2)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Peter P
DROGHIERE won a good race in his last start over this distance on the Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He is unbeaten under Gavin Lerena and is capable of keeping that record intact.

PICTURE PERFECT showed signs of needing his last run over 1160m on this course. The son of Trippi was considered good enough by his trainer to contest in the Grade 1 SA Classic in his penultimate effort. The manner in which he won on debut was impressive. He should enjoy the rise to 1400m and with a bit of luck from his wide draw, he can return to winning ways.
