UK Racing Best Bets – Tuesday 15 October 2019

Tuesday 8 October 2019

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips from UK Racing at Kempton, Hereford and Huntington on Tuesday 15 October.

Kempton Best Bets

Race 5: BOUNTY PURSUIT (2)
Trainer: Mike Blake
Jockey: Megan Nicholls

With three successes from his last four outings BOUNTY PURSUIT has proved a credit to his connections. He gained the latest of those in some style at Chepstow, and although raised in class off a higher mark this evening, is in the mood to serve up a repeat under an apprentice rider who seems to be going places.

Race 7: BRAINS (8)
Trainer: Jamie Osborne
Jockey: Nicola Currie

On the assumption that he is ready following a lengthy break, January course and distance scorer BRAINS looks the best option for this. He’d obtained a handicap mark through three modest showings in his juvenile season but returned a better and stronger horse to land a Class 6 a shade snugly. Back at the same class level, he’s in with a great chance of following up.

Hereford Best Bets

Race 1: COTTON CLUB (9)
Trainer: George Boughey
Jockey: David Bass

COTTON CLUB belied his odds of 28-1 when second in a Class 4 handicap on the Tapeta surface at Newcastle. He’s totally fit for this switch to the hurdl8ng ranks for his rookie trainer and can give likely favourite Searching plenty to think about. He’s both worked and schooled well in his preparation.

Race 2: DON’T SHOUT (4)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies
Jockey: Sam Twiston- Davies

With his yard firing in the winners DON’T SHOUT should be hard to beat in this novices’ hurdle. He might have been bogged down in a similar race run on heavy at Perth and can be forgiven that blip. Now encountering a faster surface, he can show his true colours and open his account.

Race 4: STRONG RESEMBLANCE (4)
Trainer: Oliver Greenall
Jockey: Henry Brooke

This combination enjoyed a bountiful season over fences last winter and can carry on from where they left off. The 8yo is capable of bossing his rivals round here, and is considered tuned up for what is a first outing in 220 days.

Huntington Best Bets

Race 1: GLORY AND FORTUNE (5)
Trainer: Tom Lacey
Jockey: Nico de Boinville

GLORY AND FORTUNE impressed when landing a Listed bumper on his debut under Rules at Cheltenham, and even though the form has been devalued, any winning statistics from that course bear close inspection. The Lacey stable is in good order and the 4yo has been well tutored for the switch to hurdles at home.

Race 3: RENWICK (5)
Trainer: Dan Skelton
Jockey: Harry Skelton

RENWICK looks one of the nicer prospects from his burgeoning yard and is ready to take this novices’ handicap chase. He landed two hurdle races from just five outings last season, being afforded the patience he needs. The 6yo is a quality unit who should be well worth following through the winter.
