Scotland
Gregor Townend is having a miserable old year at the helm of the Scottish national side. Losses to Ireland (19-12) and England (6-13) saw them head into their Round 3 clash with Italy with only two losing bonus points to their names.

They then failed to pick up a bonus-point win over Italy, which has been par for the course for sides who have played the Italians this year.

To compound matters, Townsend has been dealing with the fallout from his verbal scrap with former Scottish talisman and pivot, Finn Russell. The blonde ten has been firing shots from France where he is currently plying his trade with Racing 92.

Many past and present Scottish players have come to Russell’s defence, and Scottish stakeholders seem to be divided on whether Townsend or Russell are in the right.

France
Le Bleu are enjoying their best start to a 6 Nations campaign since they last won the tournament back in 2010.

They have already claimed the scalps of big guns England (24-17) and Wales (23-27) and also managed to secure a try-scoring bonus-point during their 35-22 victory over minnows Italy.

While the Scottish squad seem to be on the verge of a mini-revolt, the French seem – and whisper this part – extremely settled. Unlike in the past, the French haven’t gone to pieces during the second half of their games and have actually thrived when teams have put them under pressure.

Verdict: France 4/10
The visitors have enjoyed an impeccable tournament thus far and should have no problems getting one over a Scottish side that is crumbling under pressure.
