On behalf of the Hollywoodbets Team, we are devastated by the passing of a truly great man, our brother Kaunda Ntunja. The loss of our fellow team member and Brand Ambassador weighs heavy on our hearts. He was, and remains, a true inspiration to us all.
We worked closely with him in our sponsorship of the Phaka Rugby Show, and his love for the game was immeasurable. He was a pioneer not only for Xhosa rugby commentary in South Africa, but also for the growth of the game at grassroots levels in impoverished communities. Kaunda understood the value of club rugby, especially at a community level, and how important it is in building the foundation for the game.
He worked closely with us on the Hollywoodbets Murray Cup where his impact was far-reaching and was felt throughout South Africa. We partnered on 25 rugby initiatives together across the country. As a team we were privileged enough to work with him on these projects, and his humility and determination were all too clear to see.
He’s gone too soon but leaves a legacy when it comes to the game of rugby in South Africa. His unforgettable commentaries will be remembered forever, but so will the impact he made on all our lives. We say goodbye to a colleague, a friend, and a legend. Kaunda’s strength and warm spirit will stay with us always. We promise to continue the incredible work he started in his honour.
