The first of this weekend’s PRO14 play-offs will Irish side Munster take on Italian outfit Treviso on Saturday the 4th of May.
Treviso faces a tough task if they are to keep their fairytale story alive as they tackle heavily fancied Munster at Thomond Park this Saturday. The hosts have a solid squad laden with Irish internationals who will be relishing the chance of keeping their silverware aspirations alive.

The hosts enjoyed a solid round-robin phase campaign ending second on the Conference A standings only four points adrift of Conference winners the Glasgow Warriors. They won 15 out of their 21 regular season fixtures and head into this one on a four-game unbeaten streak with their last PRO14 defeat coming away to the Scarlets at the start of March.
When the two sides last locked horns Munster ran at 16-3 victors at this weekend’s venue. They could well rack up a bigger scoreline this time around as they have a number of players available who didn’t participate in the last meeting between the two sides.

Regardless of this weekend’s result, Treviso can still walk away from their 2018/19 PRO14 campaign with their heads held high. The Italian outfit has been brilliant this year and a first-ever play-offs appearance is just reward for their endeavours.
Treviso had a far less eye-catching round-robin phase than their hosts and scraped into third-place on the Conference B standings by just five points. They have also been in patchy form of the last few months winning only two of their last five fixtures. They do, however, head into this one off the back of an 11-25 derby victory over Zebre.
Verdict: Munster 1/10
The hosts should have no problems seeing off a spirited yet limited Treviso side. I can see a dominant Munster pack laying the foundation for a victory in excess of 15 points.
