Bayern Munich ended Paris Saint-Germain’s perfect record in UEFA Champions League Group B with a 3-1 win at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
Bayern were firmly in command of proceedings as Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock after just eight minutes, before Corentin Tolisso doubled their advantage in the 37th minute.
Kylian Mbappe halved the deficit five minutes into the second half, but Tolisso got on the scoresheet again 19 minutes later to seal a convincing victory for Jupp Heynckes’ side, who finished level with PSG on 15 points as both teams qualified for the last-16.

The French giants were second-best in Munich, but they created the first chance on four minutes when Mbappe beat David Alaba for pace and forced Sven Ulreich into a save from a narrow angle.
Alphonse Areola was called into action at the other end two minutes later as Alaba popped up on the right wing and cut inside before getting off a low shot was comfortably dealt with by the visiting keeper.
The hosts opened the scoring from their next attack on eight minutes when Lewandowski capitalised on slack marking to collect Kingsley Coman’s flick and slot home from a few yards out.
Bayern were bossing the game and Tolisso threatened from a corner that he headed wide of the target on 27 minutes, although Unai Emery’s team went close to restoring parity seven minutes later when Neymar beat the offside trap and produced another fine save out of Ulreich with a placed shot from an acute angle.
But the German champions were celebrating soon afterwards as Tolisso found his mark this time with a towering header that he powered into the bottom corner of the net from James’ cross eight minutes before half-time.
Ulreich was on hand again to deny Neymar on 43 minutes, and the German keeper was relieved to see the Brazilian forward miscue a shot at the start of the second half after leaving Joshua Kimmich for dead inside the box.
PSG did hit back on 50 minutes as an unmarked Mbappe headed home Edinson Cavani’s chip from six yards out, and they went close again five minutes later from a counter, but Cavani was unable to convert the French striker’s pass on the break.
Ulreich had to be alert to deny Julian Draxler from the edge of the box on the hour mark, after more good work from Neymar to set him up, but a second goal from Tolisso nine minutes later took the wind out of their sails.
It was a fine finish from the French midfielder, who guided the ball into the bottom-right corner of the net from Coman’s inch-perfect pass.
Late pressure from the visitors saw Marquinhos miss the target with an overhead-kick on 80 minutes after a corner had bounced around the six-yard box, while Mbappe was kept out by a fine reaction save from Ulreich in stoppage time after being set up by Cavani’s volleyed cross.
