Italian Serie A: Week 7 Preview

Serie-A-Preview

Gameeek 7 of the 2016/17 Italian Serie A gets underway on Saturday evening.

Six games into the 2016/17 Serie A campaign and Juventus are at the summit. Nonetheless, Napoli are just a point off the leaders and are looking determined to push the Old Lady all the way this season.

Roma seem to be finding the going tough on their travels as they remain winless on the road after three matches. They will gladly return to the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday but face a tough test in Inter Milan. There are few other cracking contests to look forward to, so let’s get to it!

Saturday 1 October

Pescara 17/10 | Draw 43/20 | Chievo 17/10

Pescara and Chievo will square off in the opening Serie A match of the weekend. The latter have managed just one victory from six games and are winless in their last four matches. Chievo on the other hand, have been decent thus far, claiming three wins from six games.

This is one of the least eye-catching matches of the weekend. A dull and tedious contest is expected, but if you looking to have a punt, the last five meetings have seen Under 2.5 Goals. Follow the trend and fire at 13/20!

Udinese 22/10 | Draw 9/4 | Lazio 5/4
Udinese and Lazio will bring a close to Saturday’s proceedings with what promises to be an entertaining matchup. The home side come into the encounter with two defeats from their last three matches, including a 1-0 loss to Sassuolo last time out.

Lazio have been in the opposite in terms of form, winning two of their last three games. They are coming off a routine 2-0 home win against Empoli and look the better team coming into this game. The away win should be backed.

Sunday 2 October

Empoli 17/2 | Draw 4/1 | Juventus 3/10

Sunday’s lunch time kick off will pit Empoli up against defending champions Juventus. The Azzurri have been dismal with four losses from their last six matches, including back-to-back defeats. They have scored just twice, whilst conceding eight times in the process.

Juventus are top of the table with five victories from six matches, scoring 12 goals and conceding just four times. They have won the last four meetings against their opponents and look a sure bet to make it five on the trot. Get on the Juventus (-1) Handicap at 9/10.

Atalanta 9/2 | Draw 3/1 | Napoli 6/10

Atalanta will have some momentum going into their clash with Napoli, after ousting Crotone 3-1 on Monday evening. It will take a lot to stop Napoli, who have been outstanding thus far, and remain unbeaten with four wins and two draws from six games.

Atalanta have lost four of their last six matches and find themselves in 17th place on the log, just one point above the relegation zone. The away team won both encounters last season and are tipped to build on that with another victory.

Bologna 27/20 | Draw 22/10 | Genoa 43/20
Bologna will welcome Genoa to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, where they have managed to maintain a 100% win record this term, scoring five goals and conceding just once. Genoa are winless in their last three matches and are without a win away to their opponents in the last five visits.

The last five meetings has seen Under 2.5 Goals and that can be found at 7/10. However, I will be backing Bologna to at a valuable 27/20. Their home form is just too good to pass up.

Cagliari 9/20 | Draw 33/10 | Crotone 57/10
Cagliari may have lost all their matches on their travels, but their home form has been terrific. They have won back-to-back games on home soil and also managed a well-deserved 2-2 draw against title-chasers Roma.

Basement-dwellers Crotone have done very little to prove they have enough quality and determination to belong in the top tier of Italian football. They have lost five of their six matches, scoring only four goals and conceding 14 times.

The last six meetings between these sides have produced Over 2.5 Goals a game, with the home team the usual winner. The Matchbet + Totals market is worth a dabble, with the home win + Over 2.5 Goals a good shout at 21/20.

Sampdoria 13/20 | Draw 28/10 | Palermo 17/4 Sampdoria’s 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cagliari on Monday night was their fourth loss on the trot. They will host a Palermo side, who they have only managed to beat once in the last 11 meetings.

The Rosanero have struggled to win matches thus far, but have impressed away from home and remain unbeaten with one victory and two draws from three matches. Sticking with form, Palermo are tipped on the Double Chance at 11/10.

Torino 29/20 | Draw 43/20 | Fiorentina 2/1

Next up, Torino will take on Fiorentina and will be confident of claiming maximum points following their 3-1 home win over Roma last weekend. Toro are unbeaten on their ground with two wins from three games, scoring eight goals and conceding just twice.

Fiorentina are unbeaten in their last four games and will be eager to maintain that. They are yet to win a match on the road, but should give a good account of themselves here. Take Both Teams To Score at 17/20.

AC Milan 15/20 | Draw 26/10 | Sassuolo 36/10
AC Milan have shown impressive form in recent weeks, edging Sampdoria 1-0 away, then beating Lazio 2-0 before claiming a hard-fought point at Fiorentina. Sassuolo have been inconsistent with three wins and three defeats from six matches.

Milan have won the last two home meetings against Sassuolo and are well worth a punt to make it three in a row. The home win is tipped.

Roma 21/20 | Draw 51/20 | Inter Milan 49/20

Roma and Inter Milan will lock horns what has all the makings of a humdinger. The Giallorossi have been outstanding on home soil, winning all three matches, scoring 11 goals and conceding only twice.

Inter Milan are unbeaten in their last five matches with three victories, including a 2-1 home win against defending champions Juventus. We could be in for an ended to end game of football. Over 3.5 Goals looks tasty at 16/10 – get on!
