AmaZulu captain Makhehlene Makhaula reckons Kaizer Chiefs will be tough to face in Saturday's DStv Premiership encounter at Kings Park Stadium due to their unpredictability after a recent poor run of form.

Chiefs sit in 13th position on the log with five points from one win and two draws having lost in two of their last three games while AmaZulu are doing slightly better sitting with six points and occupying seventh place on the league table.

In an interview carried by The Sowetan, the 31-year-old Makhaula says AmaKhosi are a dangerous team as they are like a snake faking death and could bounce back to life very quickly to inflict damage on their opponents.

“The off-form Chiefs encourage us to go all out for the win. However, they are a dangerous team. An off-form team is a dangerous team. You might think a snake is dead only for it to strike you back,” Makhaula said.

“They might bounce back to their winning ways at our expense. We do not want to fall victim to Chiefs. They are a snake that pretends to be dead only to bite you when you are looking the other way.”

The AmaZulu midfielder admitted his side were under pressure to perform having started the season off slowly but the return of eight players from injury and suspension bodes well for the side ahead of the Chiefs clash.

“We are under pressure because we are playing at home. They are under pressure because they have not won in their past three matches. We finished second last season, and that puts us under pressure to do well this season,” Makhaula said.

“Do not make that mistake of assuming that a snake is dead only for it to bite you. That is how we see Chiefs currently. They are unpredictable and do not have the fear factor that we are used to, and that could work to their advantage,” he added.
