The Reds will be looking to close down the gap at the top of the table when they meet Yanga this weekend.

Simba coach Pablo Martin insists his side are still in the title race despite Yanga’s dominance in the league this season.

“First of all we were in the quarter-finals of the CAF (Confederations Cup) and everyone saw what happened. Our opponents (Yanga) are not playing in any international tournaments, they are 13 points ahead (of Simba) and have played one game fewer.

There you can see and understand, we’ve dropped points because we’ve had to play two or three days away. But I don’t see them as a better team than us, said the Spanish gaffer.

The two giants in Tanzanian football will face off at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday 30 April and the 41-year-old Spanish tactician is confident of getting a result and ending Yanga’s unbeaten run.
