Khama Billiat extends stay

Reports suggest that Khama Billiat has agreed a one-year extension to his current contract exporting at the end of June. Kaizer Chiefs seem to be willing to take a chance on a man who’s been injured for most of the campaign and not really produced his best when fit. They do say form is temporary and class is permanent.

Manqoba Mnqithi still a Soundowns coach… for now

With Manqoba Mngqithi’s contract at Sundowns ending on June 30th, Amakhosi management are reportedly closely monitoring his situation at Chloorkop. Furthermore, the AmaKhosi board held a meeting with Zwane last week with the outcome still being kept a secret for the time being. But sources close to Mnqithi say the tactician has had his deal at the club extended by one year.

Caleb to depart

Rumours that Burundi striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is set to leave Kaizer Chiefs after just one season seem to be rife.

The towering attacker has struggled to have an impact at the club, and coach Arthur Zwane has reportedly told him to look for a new team.

Mandieta snubs Amakhosi for the Brazillians?

Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly secured the signature of Stellenbosch FC star Junior Mendieta, with reports saying that he joins on a whopping three-year deal.

The Argentine scored nine goals and provided eight assists for Stellies in the 2022/23 campaign, attracting interest from Kaizer Chiefs in the process. Other clubs who were rumoured to be interested in the Corrientes-born player were Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United respectively.

U-turn on Petersen’s contact extension?

Kaizer Chiefs have opted to put goalkeeper Brandon Petersen’s contract extension on the ice, according to reports. The ex-Bidvest Wits shot stopper will be entering his final year in the deal with Amakhosi but the Soweto giants are currently reviewing the campaign which has concluded before deciding on his future.

Mdantsane signature secured!

Cape Town City have reportedly lost one of their prized players in Mdududzi Mdantsane. Amakhosi have been long-time admirers of the former Baroka FC star and now sources close to the player are reporting that Arthur Zwane’s side have finally landed their prime target.

Ngcobo Transfer-listed

The 29-year-old still has one more year to run on his contract, which will expire at the end of the 2023/24 season.   Ngcobo featured in only 11 league matches and just seven as a starter, plus one in the MTN8 and two in the Nedbank Cup, losing his place initially to Zitha Kwinika before the resurgence of form of Siyabonga Ngezana, who shared the centre-back position with Edmilson Dove in most games of the second half of 2022/23.
