The Chilli Boys were sanctioned following a dispute with former player Abdi Banda.

The 28-year-old Tanzanian centre-back, who is currently playing for Richards Bay, after leaving Chippal, was reportedly not paid his settlement agreement, in the region of R1.2 million.

He had joined the DStv Premiership club from Mtibwa Sugar in July 2022 and made 17 appearances.

Part of a document published by iDiski Times read: “We wish to inform the parties that a ban from registering new players internationally has been implemented by FIFA as of today.

“Moreover, and in accordance with the aforementioned decision, respondent’s member association is requested to immediately implement on the respondent, the Club Chippa United FC, a ban from registering new players at national level.

“We thank you for taking note of the above and for your valuable cooperation in this matter.”
