The 23-year-old South African midfielder is currently contracted to Swedish side Varbergs BoIS.

He joined the team from Dutch club FC Volendam after leaving SuperSport United in 2018.

Amakhosi were said to be interested in the young player, who has been capped five times by Bafana, but Le Roux has played down the potential return to South Africa at this stage of his career.

The player said on FARPost: “There was never direct contact with me, might have been with the agency, but they [agency] know that I want to be in Europe for now.

“I heard of the rumours and everything, but there was no direct contact with me or my agent.”

Le Roux added: “[It] comes back to working hard for something. [You] always have to keep pushing and doing your best because you never know who is watching.

“But it feels good to know that there are big teams like Chiefs, for example, tracking you.”
