Marumo Gallants are the only winless team in the division and looks like it could be a long season for them.

Friday 2 September

7/2 SuperSport United | Draw 22/10 | Sundowns 17/20 (19:30)

In a repeat of last week’s MTN8 showdown, SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns gear up for another Tshwane Derby. In a game that turned out to be a death by 1000 cuts for SuperSport, Sundowns were the clear dominant side and will look to move to the top of the table of the DStv Premiership. The price on offer for Downs seem too good to pass up here to complete a quick derby double.

Saturday 3 September

11/10 Golden Arrows | 21/10 | Chippa United 5/2 (15:00)

Golden Arrows picked up their maiden win last time out in the DStv Premiership, beating AmaZulu in the Durban derby. That win failed to move them out of the relegation as they still seek their first home victory. Chippa United have shown that they’re more than capable of causing an upset on their day, previously beating Orlando Pirates this term. The Chilli Boys have seen a couple of low-scoring fixtures on the road and should be able to avoid defeat. I fancy a stalemate in this tie.

13/10 Stellenbosch | 2/1 | Richards Bay 22/10 (15:00)

Richards Bay have been humbled and brought back down to earth after their blistering start to the campaign. The Rich Boyz of Natal have lost back-to-back games, going down to Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United. Stellenbosch were just dumped out of the MTN8 last weekend, but have shown some signs of encouragement this season. With fortunes not going in their favour, I expect Stellies to take advantage of Richards Bay’s downfall.

9/10 Kaizer Chiefs | 21/10 | AmaZulu 7/2 (17:30)

AmaZulu have been one of the teams to watch this season and have another test at upsetting the applecart when they play Kaizer Chiefs. The visitors have won three of their five matches this season and come off the back of a memorable win over Cape Town City in the quarter-finals of the MTN8. Chiefs have lost three of their five games, but did overcome Stellenbosch’s test in the MTN8, knocking them out via a penalty shoot-out. A tight affair is expected here, but my money is on a draw.

7/4 Sekhukhune United | 2/1 | Royal AM 33/20 (17:30)

Sekhukhune United have failed to live up to the early-season hype. They’ve won just once this term, scoring just four goals in five games. Victories have been hard to come by, and against a fiery Royal AM side, the going could get tougher. The visitors have won three games of their six this term and have been free scoring with Andre De Jong notching up three goals to his name thus far. With form in their favour, I expect Royal AM to claim maximum points.

37/20 TS Galaxy | 2/1 | Cape Town City 15/10 (20:00)

TS Galaxy remain the only unbeaten team in the DStv Premiership this season, drawing three of the five matches, winning the other two. They’re also yet to concede a goal this campaign. Cape Town City claimed their first win of the DStv Premiership last time out, beating Chiefs 2-0. They were then knocked out by AmaZulu last weekend, so have an uphill battle to climb again. Put your money on the hosts to win or draw at 4/10.

Sunday 4 September

2/1 Marumo Gallants | 2/1 | Swallows 14/10 (15:00)

Marumo Gallants are the only winless team in the division, and sit rock-bottom of the league table. They’ve drawn four of their five matches, and lost most recently to Orlando Pirates. Their defensive record is still decent, however, conceding just four times in five games. Swallows have scored seven goals and have conceded just as much in five encounters. They’ve also won two and lost two from five ties. Gallants have been the draw kings of the division and should hold Swallows to a draw.

17/4 Maritzburg United | 23/10 | Orlando Pirates 7/10 (17:30)

The round of DStv Premiership action concludes at Harry Gwala Stadium where Maritzburg United look to put a halt to Orlando Pirates’ resurgence. The Buccaneers are the current log-leaders and have picked up seven points from their last three encounters. Maritzburg United are yet to taste defeat on home soil this term, drawing two of their three matches. Pirates have looked impressive in recent weeks and come off the back of beating Royal AM 2-1 in the MTN8. Pirates look worth including in a multiple this weekend.

TREBLE @ 5/1
Royal AM win 33/20
TS Galaxy win/draw 4/10
Orlando Pirates win 7/10
