Amakhosi avoided being drawn to face Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns, who make up the other semi-final, but in AmaZulu they face a team very much in form.

Under Brandon Truter Usuthu have kicked on this season and currently sit in third place on the DStv Premiership standings with three wins from their opening five games. They overcame Cape Town City 2-1 in their quarter-final clash as Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate.

Speaking after Monday’s draw, Zwane said on KickOff: “We are playing against AmaZulu and we all know it’s not going to be an easy one. They are doing very well at the present moment.

“They have been winning their league games and they are also through to the semi-finals against us, and they have assembled a very good squad with a good coach and technical staff.”

Zwane, who’s side are in ninth position on the league with two wins this season, added: “It’s going to be two legs that will be very difficult. There are no easy games. These are knockouts so it depends on how we approach it home and away and how they respond because first we are playing against them in a league game this weekend.

“We are looking forward to the game and we hope that we will do well and go through to the final.”
