Pitso Mosimane is one victory away from successfully completing the mission to keep Abha FC in the Saudi Pro League.
This after South Africa’s most decorated football coach led Abha to their ninth win of the season when they beat Al-Khaleej by 2-1 on Thursday.
The victory, inspired by goals from François Kamano and Fabián Noguera, who scored at the death, lifted them from the relegation zone with one match to go.
Mosimane’s men moved to the 15th place on the 18-team log table. The bottom three finishers will get relegated to Saudi Arabia’s second tier.
A victory in their last match of the campaign already relegated Al-Hazm on Monday will confirm Abha’s safety from the unforgiving jaws of relegation.

They have managed 32 points from 33 matches and are fighting stiff competition from Al-Tai, who are on 31 points, and Al Akhdoud on 30.
Speaking after the game, Mosimane credited his side’s mental strength and the never give up attitude.
“Our games are more emotional than tactical because if you don’t have the heart for this game, even if you have the right tactic you might not win,” Mosimane said.
“You need more than the technique, you need more than the tactic, you need more than the physical condition, you need also the mental aspect.
“We believe. Inshallah, one more cup final, then we can start talking.
“But at least we’ve put ourselves in a position where it’s in our hands. If we win, we will stay in the Pro League, but it’s very difficult.”
The three-time CAF Champions League-winning coach joined the Leaders of the South when they were second from the bottom of the log table.
