Jerry Sikhosana and Brian Baloyi express their devastation following the passing of prominent Orlando Pirates fan,Mgijimi.

The passionate fan whose real name is Mandla Sindane rose to prominence when he started imitating the Isibaya character “Mgijimi” by painting his body white whenever the mighty Amabhakabhaka were playing.
A regular feature on the stands, the staunch Buccaneer enjoyed leading the fans’ dance moves.
Jerry Sikhosana who knew the super fan personally was saddened by the news of his passing.
“He was a passionate fan who always kept the crowds alive which in turn motivated the players. Footballers need that 12th man to perform to their full potential.
As a Pirates legend I’ve met him a few times. He ate, lived and breathed this iconic football club”.
Brian Baloyi also paid homage to this wonderful man.
“I would like to convey my sincere condolences to his family, Orlando Pirates and the whole football fraternity.
“Mgijimi personified what a passionate football fan is. His character was there for everyone to see as he brought something different. We will miss him as South African football fans. TV cameras would show his reaction whether Pirates won or lost and that should inspire the next generation of supporters.
“May his soul rest in power”.
