Spanish La Liga: Gameweek 32 Preview

Real Madrid took control of the Spanish title race by beating Mallorca 2-0 at home to move top of La Liga above Barcelona due to superior head-to-head record. Los Blancos are now seven games away from winning their first title in three seasons. This looks set to be a photo finish between the two big guns. Will Real Madrid hold on? Let’s find out what gameweek 32 has instore for us.

Sevilla 4/10
Draw 34/10
Valladolid 7/1
Sevilla have been guilty of dropping points in the league recently. The Sevillistas have won once in the last five matches which resulted in them dropping from third to fourth. The hosts will need nothing but three points in this match to stay in the top four. Valladolid needs a few points to confirm safety though it would take a miracle for them to be relegated as things stand. Sevilla needs this game more and I can’t see anything but a home win.

Atl Bilbao 9/20
Draw 3/1
Mallorca 13/2
Athletic Bilbao have resumed their post-lockdown season on a decent note losing once in the four matches played. The home team are going after a Europa League spot, but they have quite some distance to cover in order to secure that objective, and by no means could they afford to drop points hereon. Mallorca are running out of time, the visitors are desperate for points – they are six points away from safety with seven games to play. Five more defeats would confirm relegation. I think it’s all over for Mallorca so back the hosts to win this one.

Celta De Vigo 4/1
Draw 29/10
Barcelona 13/20
Out of all the Elite leagues – La Liga seems to be the closest and with seven games to go, the title could be decided on the last day. Barcelona and Real Madrid are tied on 68 points with the Catalans being second because of their inferior head-to-head record. Blaugrana will want to win here and put pressure on their rivals who play the next day. Celta Vigo are in good form which has seen them kick away from the red zone. The hosts have collected seven points in their last three matches. This won’t be an easy game so keep it simple and back a straight win for Barca.

Osasuna 27/20
Draw 9/20
Leganes 49/20
Osasuna have been impressive this season and their log position (11th) says it all. At home they’ve been decent collecting 20 points from the 15 matches, losing just five. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about Leganes who have been absolutely atrocious this season. The visitors have won once on the road this season and collected only nine points. This is a banker and Osasuna should be included in everything.

Atl Madrid 7/20
Draw 7/2
Alaves 19/2
Atletico Madrid have turned things around and this also puts them in a good position for the UEFA Champions League mini-tournament coming up in August. Atleti have won each of their last three matches and remained unbeaten in the last 11 matches including a win at Anfield. Get on the 7/20.

Levante 16/10
Draw 24/10
Real Betis 16/10
After their fluke win against Real Madrid, the Frogs are back to their struggling form. Though they have a considerable buffer of points over the cut-off, and this gives them the luxury to start preparing for next season. Real Betis have been blowing hot and cold, recording a win, draw and a defeat in each of the last three games. I can’t separate these two teams so get on Both Teams to Score at 6/10.

Villarreal 12/10
Draw 5/2
Valencia 22/10
The Yellow Submarine are flying high since the return of football – collecting 10 points in their last four matches.  The incredible form has seen them climb into the European qualification zone. Valencia are the most inconsistent team in the top half. You just never know what to expect with this team. One day they give a world class performance and the next they play like a Segunda team. Let’s back the consistent side at 12/10.

Granada 27/20
Draw 39/20
Eibar 47/20
Granada can kiss their top four hope goodbye after their dismal run. The hosts are winless in the last three matches and have dropped to nineth on the standings 10 points away from fourth-placed Sevilla. Eibar are still not safe from the red zone and will probably need at least six ponts from the remaining fixtures. Back these sides to cancel each other out.

Espanyol 57/10
Draw 37/10
Real Madrid 9/20
Real Madrid beat Mallorca 2-0 on Wednesday night to make it four wins out of four since La Liga’s return and leapfrog Barcelona to the top of the table. Vincius was again Real Madrid’s best player, the 19-year-old getting Los Blancos’ first goal before Serio Ramos capped the scoring in a 2-0 win. This will be a clash between teams from both ends of the Premier League table. Madrid have gained more momentum for their first league title race since 2017. As one of the contenders for relegation, Espanyol will barely put a dent to Los Blancos’ good run of form. Back Madrid to step closer to the title.

QUAD @ 7/1
Atletico Madrid Win 7/20
Real Madrid Win 9/20
Barcelona Win 13/20
Osasuna Win 27/20
