Former PSG Coach, Unai Emery looks set to be unveiled as Arsene Wenger’s successor later this week.
Mikel Arteta, who represented Arsenal between 2011 and 2016 was tipped to take the reigns at Arsenal after positive talks with the club. But the 36-year-old is said not to have found majority favour over the newly available, Emery.
Emery managed 114 matches during his spell at PSG, winning 87 of them and finished with a win percentage of 76%. He’s won the Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Coupe de la Ligue, and Trophée des Champions. But the one cup that has eluded him was the UEFA Champions League, a cup that PSG Club President Nasser Al Khelaifi is desperate to win.
Arsenal finished sixth in this year’s competition and Emery has a huge task at hand to turn the hopes of the club around back to its former glory days.
