Writers’ Weekend Treble

Hollywoodbets-Blog-Writers'-Weekend-Treble

Check out our writer’s weekend treble that equates to 12/1.

It has been a rather disappointing couple weeks over at blog HQ. Our writers’ have been done by some harsh results but they reckon it’s time to cut the excuses and pay back the money with a winning treble!

Our first leg of the treble comes courtesy of our rugby writer who is backing Ulster to see off Clermont in a European Rugby Champions Cup fixture. We then move onto our two football tips with Aaron backing Sunderland to continue their recent resurgence and Jason backing current Bundesliga leaders, Red Bull Leipzig, to get the better of a struggling Ingolstadt outfit.

Pick: Ulster (European Rugby Champions Cup)

Ulster 12/10 | Draw 22/1 | Clermont 7/10

The European Rugby Champions Cup makes a return this weekend and it’s provided us with what should be a rather profitable bet. Ulster have been in decent knick this term but are yet to really hit their straps in both the PRO 12 and European Rugby Champions Cup. While Clermont have gone off the boil in recent weeks after making a fast start to both their domestic and Champions Cup campaigns.

Ulster have been significantly boosted this week with Irish internationals Rory Best and Paddy Jackson both returning for the club. I reckon these two internationals will help Ulster to a narrow home victory over the current French Top 14 log leaders.

Pick: Red Bull Leipzig (German Bundesliga)

Ingolstadt 7/2 | Draw 26/10 | Leipzig 8/10

Love them or hate them, Red Bull Leipzig are here to stay! The German side have been sensational this term and have been likened to the 2015/16 crop of Leicester City players. They travel to rock-bottom Ingolstadt this weekend in a match that they’re widely expected to win. There’s much else to say other than Leipzig have won their last seven matches in all competitions while Ingolstadt have only managed a single win all season. 8/10 is a gift – get on!

Writer: Aaron Crowie
Pick: Sunderland (English Premiership)

Swansea 11/10 | Draw 49/20 | Sunderland 24/10

Swansea and Sunderland will square off on Saturday in an early season relegation dogfight. Some might misconstrue this matchup, thinking a dull encounter is on the cards. I say prepare for a humdinger, with both teams coming out all guns blazing! Swansea are at the foot of the table and rightly so, managing just two wins from 14 games, scoring 16 goals and conceding 31 times. Bob Bradley’s side were disappointing last time out, as Tottenham ran riot at White Hart Lane, thrashing the Swans 5-0, showing no mercy.

Sunderland have been on the up in recent weeks, bagging an impressive three victories from their last four games. David Moyes is starting to get the best out of his Black Cats and a win over Swansea might just see them claw their way out of the drop zone. Neither side can afford to bleed any more points but with Sunderland playing the way they have and Swansea shipping goals like it’s going out of fashion, the Black Cats victory at 24/10 looks too good to pass up.

For The Brave

We are once again going for a price boost market for our ‘For The Brave’ segment. This week sees Marcio Pocheittino and his ‘Lilly Whites’ make the trip to Old Trafford. Spurs talismanic striker Harry Kane has been in decent touch of late, bagging three goals in his last two games. And with Manchester United struggling for form, a Spurs victory and Harry Kane to open the scoring at 9/1 looks a rather sound bet. If you add this to the above treble, you will have a 133/1 quad on your hands!
