As the domestic season draws to an end, Hollywoodbets brand ambassador Jerry Sikhosana shares his thoughts on an enthralling 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign, Kaizer Chiefs' ongoing struggles while picking his Player of the Season.
Regarded as one of the greatest players that the country has ever produced in the DStv Premiership, Sikhosana has raised concerns about the ongoing crisis at Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
“Bit disappointed, honestly speaking about Kaizer Chiefs and the calibre of things that are happening inside the brand of Kaizer Chiefs,” said Sikhosana.
“I think things need to be sorted out because this is a team where you usually talk about winning titles.
“Not a team that is just looking at their own mistakes and looking at the players that they have who do not meet the quality to represent that brand.
“So, for me, that’s the disappointment that I have with Chiefs this season.
“And also being out of the top eight, fighting to get into the top eight. You know Chiefs it’s either, it’s fighting to be in the Champions League (second spot or third) or maybe winning the title itself.
“The way things are at Chiefs, it’s not enticing.”

The Legs of Thunder further explained that he initially had high hopes for the relegated Cape Town Spurs.
“Coming to the relegation part of it. It’s so disappointing because you would always want to have a Western Cape team, only Cape Town City and Stellenbosch are putting down their mark,” Sikhosana added.
“And I thought maybe Cape Town Spurs were going to be an additional team to make sure that they stay in their PSL, only for them to be relegated.
“It was just something that was not good in terms of football because we really need to expand teams in all the provinces, especially the coastal side of it, you know.
“And it’s not good when a team like Cape Town Spurs lose their position in the DStv Premier League.”

The 54-year-old Orlando Pirates legend also shared his opinion on who should win the Footballer of the Season.
“But yeah, it was a good one, but I also want to give credit to one of the best players.
“I don’t know if he will be a player of the season or not, Iqraam Rayners, striker of Stellenbosch. I mean, the way he has improved in terms of being a goalscorer, you know, consistent goalscorer for me, he did a lot.
“And I really appreciate what he has done. But I don’t know if he’s in contention for Player of the Season, but I think maybe on my side, if I have to choose the Player of the Season I mean, that would be obvious.
“From Sundowns, I mean, you’re talking about their goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams. I think he’s top-class.
“He’s not just a goalkeeper because he uses his hands, but you look at the way he plays the ball, the way he starts the ball at the back, feet-wise, he’s just so good.
“He is a marvel to watch because he adds that dimension of how they want to play, because that’s where they belong in terms of how they want to start the ball at the back.
“Every time they had pressure, the defence would play the ball back to him and he is just so calm, he will look and decide where he wants to play the ball without any pressure.
“So, that for me it’s good,” Sikhosana concluded.
