EL GHAZWANI is in search of a hat-trick this afternoon and he has proven to be very competitive on the all-weather track. He won comfortably in his latest start at Lingfield and their looks like there is more to come from the son of Cape Cross. COUNTRY is much better than is last run suggests. He was well beaten last time at Newmarket but if recapturing some of his earlier form he may be able to pose a serious threat to the top selection. OASIS PRINCE often pops up in the places and with Norton in the saddle he must be respected in this contest.
Race 2
OLEKSANDER is unbeaten from both his starts last year and a looks a progressive sort in the making. He makes his course debut this afternoon and it will be no surprise, to see the son of Teofilo keep his unbeaten record intact. FAVORITE MOON is a maiden taking on winners but he has shown enough promise to warrant inclusion and he has also been gelded since his last effort. He will come on leaps in this contest. LONDON ARCH fared well last time despite being under sufferance and also has that come-on look about him.
Race 3
FANNY LOGAN won five times last season and didn’t disgrace herself in a Group 1 last time out at Santa Anita. She should have too much class for her rivals this afternoon and will take a power of beating with Havlin in the irons. VIVIONN has finished runner-up in her last two starts, the most recent race being a Listed event and she looks the obvious threat to the top selection. SHAILENE didn’t shape in this class last time out but if she brings her best to the races, she can run into the places.
Race 4
ELARQAM featured in a Group 1 last time out and should have no problem shrugging off the challengers in this contest. He was arguably unlucky in his penultimate effort at York and a reproduction of that run, would see him go close. BANGKOK has been ultra-consistent and he loves this type of distance. If he can settle in the running he may prove hard to peg back in the latter stages of the race. LORD NORTH impressed in his latest victory at Newmarket when defeating Pablo Escobarr by just over two lengths. He can give the top selection a run for his money.
Race 5
SPACE BLUES has placed in a couple of Group 1 Races in France and based on his record, he could take a power of beating in this contest with Doyle in the saddle. URBAN ICON is held by the top selection on their two prior meetings but his latest win at Wolverhampton suggests that he has the scope to go on and pose a threat to the top selection. SAFE VOYAGE won three starts on this track last season and should be right there at the business end of affairs.
Race 6
GOLDEN MELODY is a daughter of Belardo and she is related to several winners. Any support in the market for her should be respected. SARSAPARILLA is an interesting runner. She is a Sister to Beyond Equal who won five times over this distance. Her pedigree suggests that she can win this Fillies Novice Stakes. PACOPASH’S Mother won twice over 1000m and she may just have the speed to go on and run into the places.
Race 7
MAID IN INDIA races well when returning fresh and has the added bonus of being a course and distance winner. She is a Group 3 winner on good to form going and she looks like the one to beat in this contest. MISS CELESTIAL has finished runner-up in her last two outings and with Morris aboard, she looks like the obvious threat to the top selection. ROYAL INTERVETION is a Group 2 winner and if recapturing her best form, she can run into the places.
Race 8
TORO DORADO has racked up four wins on the all-weather and if proving as effective on grass, he will be a tough horse to beat in this contest. DANCING RAVE has been consistent recently and has won twice already this year. She looks to be racing off of a competitive mark this afternoon. HARVEST DAY has had a wind operation since her disappointing last outing and she could find a form return in this wide open contest.
Race 9
This is a very competitive Class 5 Handicap. SUDONA makes his stable debut since leaving the Hugo Palmer stable and although she takes on males this afternoon, she may be competitive if racing fresh. The grey DELPH CRESCENT is much better than his last start suggests and he can find a swift return to form in this contest. SQUELCH caught the eye last time at Chelmsford when producing her career-best effort and she can run into the places.
Race 10
GLORIOUS CAESAR is the value bet on the card and he goes for a hat-trick of wins in the lucky last. He followed up his maiden win in style when shrugging off the challenge of Bregeut Boy and there looks like there is more to come from the son of Holy Roman Emperor. MAORI KNIGHT put five lengths between himself and the runner-up in his latest triumph at Chelmsford and he still has plenty of scope for improvement. CIPANGO is a maiden taking on winners but he was only beaten a head last time out and could be one to upset in this contest.
