1. The 2020/21 DStv Premiership season kicks off on the 24th of October with the MTN8 quarterfinals taking place a week earlier, kicking off on the 17th. There will be no bio-safe environment (bio-bubble) this time.
2. The PSL awards ceremony for the 2019/20 season will be held before the new season starts and details will be shared in due course.
3. There will be no League Cup (Telkom Knockout) this season due to the sponsors pulling out. The competition returns in the 2021/22 season with new title sponsors.
4. The GladAfrica Championship will commence as soon as the issue of the two teams that have to come up from the ABC Motsepe League has been resolved. More details will be shared after next week’s meeting.
5. The PSL will discuss the number of substitutions per match in next week’s meeting.
6. The PSL has undertaken a study on VAR and there are constraints. Firstly, SAFA is responsible for referees and it would be their prerogative to introduce technology. Secondly, sustainability of technology (VAR or Goal Line Technology) will be a challenge as most venues are owned by municipalities.
7. The prize money for the DStv Premiership champions remains R15 million
