Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Monday’s racing at Stratford, Taunton, and Plumpton.
Stratford Best Bets
Race 2: FANZIO (2)
Trainer: Richard Hobson
Jockey: Paul O’Brien
This looks a good opportunity for FANZIO to deservedly return to winning ways. The 5yo looks a better chaser than he was a hurdler, having gone close on both starts over fences and run into some useful foes. His Huntingdon conqueror Ibleo certainly hasn’t let the form down.
Race 7: O CEALLAIGH (9)
Trainer: G Hanmer
Jockey: Mr Harrison Beswick
Front runner O CEALLAIGH could soon have this field strung out. He was in front of Risk And Roll when unseating at Leicester and has subsequently run well at Ludlow. He lost ground by jumping left that day but the trail shouldn’t be a hindrance on this left-handed course.
Taunton Best Bets
Race 4: NINEOHTWOONEOH (2)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls
Jockey: Harry Cobden
Although up 10lb for his resounding success at Musselburgh, NINEOHTWOONEOH has a fine chance of a follow up. He appreciated the longer trip and easy conditions for that clear cut triumph and with further progression on the cards can win again.
Plumpton Best Bets
Race 6: SIXTIES IDOL (7)
Trainer: Sheena West
Jockey: Joshua Moore
SIXTIES IDOL was moving well when falling three from home here last month and makes slightly more appeal than stablemate Kenny George. The ground could be bottomless and the selection revels in the conditions, while Kenny George has to concede 20lbs.
