The South African Football Association are working towards an August start after the Premier Soccer League’s initial date of July 18 was pushed back.
The PSL Executive Committee will meet with the Board of Governors on Friday to finally confirm a date after FIFA allowed for the Absa Premiership and GladAfrica Championship to spill over into September.
Speaking to IOL, Madlala explained: “We haven’t made any decision with regards to when we will return to action. For now, we haven’t taken any decision.”
A number of clubs are starting to feel the cost of the restart, with any further delays seriously threatening the ability of teams to pay their players.
Madlala added: “The BoG will decide what they want to do. With regard to the monthly grants, we will also discuss that on Friday.”
