Race 4

BELROCOS BABE drops to a five furlong sprint after finishing third in her last start over six furlongs, just over a half length behind the winner. She attracted plenty of betting support that day and the form of that race has been franked. With the two late scratchings, she come into gate eleven and with the blinkers being refitted for today’s run, she looks to be the one to side with in this line-up. CHATTANOOGA LUCY followed up her penultimate run victory over 1100M with an eighth place finish next time out over six furlongs, nearly seven lengths back from the winner. It must however be noted that she was bumped at the 1000M mark and also had to be steadied at the 800M pole that day. She returns from a 14 week rest, but did put in an encouraging barrier trial to showcase her well-being. From a handy draw two, she could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. BOOM CHUGGA LUGGA has her hat-trick attempt after winning her last outing over six furlongs by just under half a length, but did win over this c&d in her penultimate run, so the drop in trip should not be an issue. She has a wideish gate seven, but on the plus side, she will have 1.5kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.

Race 5

Today’s best bet CONTEMPTUOUS has only had the three runs to date, winning one and finishing third in another. His jockey felt that there was something amiss and did not persevere with his ride in the closing stages last time out when finishing a disappointing sixth over five furlongs, nearly eight lengths adrift of the victor, but the form of that race has stood up well. He was immediately rested for 30 week and returns here after winning his only barrier trial with some ease. MAHA MUSTANG is a speedy sort who made solid improvement when dropping to the minimum distance last time out, finishing third, just over one length behind the winner. He was returning from a 15 week break that day and from pole position, he could threaten the top pick. ARRIVERDERCI ROMA showed marked improvement to win his last start over five furlongs by a short head, despite being friendless in the betting markets. If repeating that effort, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

BONAPARTE had his consistency rewarded with a neck victory last time out over six furlongs at this venue when returning from a 15 week break. He will have to negotiate a wide gate ten, but he seems likely to turn in another honest performance today. HALLOWED GIRL is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has finished second in her last to starts, the latest over 1300M, just a half length adrift of the winner. She finished strongly that day suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to her liking. She has gate eight and should be doing her best work late. WHYKAYOH is drawn one outside the latter and returns from a 12 week absence. He has not had the benefit of a barrier trial, so his fitness will have to be taken on trust. He is however seldom far off the action and although finishing seventh last time out over seven furlongs, he was just over a length and a half back from the winner, this despite him coming the widest of them all into the home straight that day

Race 7

ZAWADI strode away to put nearly four lengths between himself and the balance of the field to win last time out over this c&d. He has been a model of consistency and jumping from gate four, he looks to be the one that they all have to beat. JERRY ZANDA has his hat-trick run after winning his last outing over the c&d by just under a length. He hit the front at the 150M mark that day and held off all challenges over the closing stages of the contest. He faces the widest draw of them all in gate ten, but he should be right up there when they hit the line. LOPE FOR JOYA is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she has cracked pole position. She steps up further in distance after finishing a head second last time out over a mile. She was making good late progress that day and the extra trip seems well within her capabilities. She should be included id all bets.
