BANK MANAGER could be the one to follow in this Maiden Plate over 1600m. He relished being relocated t o this weaker sand centre and was just touched off over 1800m when setting the pace from a wide draw, five weeks ago, when making his local debut. The 3yr old bay gelding was staying on after moving up well over 1400m two weeks ago. Today’s trip could be spot on for the son of Go Deputy and he has the necessary speed to overcome the wide draw.

The ex Cape Town based NUTBUSH won his maiden with authority over 1400m at this track, five weeks ago. The 3year old son of Tiger Ridge had everything stacked against him, when jumping from a wide draw and getting a bump at the start and still managed to produce a powerful finish to win going away. He looks versatile and will have no issues with the wide draw, as he has the necessary pace to overcome the draw or relax and come off the pace. Marco V/Rensburg retains the ride and a bold bid is expected

Jockey: Callan MURRAY – Trainer: TIENIE
The Stephanie Miller trained KENT ROCK boasts an impeccable record of 3/3 wins over this course and distance. The 4yr old bay gelding has been making headway in both comeback runs over shorter and will relish being back over his favourite course and distance. He crushed All The Bids over the mile in September last year and could prove the one to beat as that formline has since been well franked.

SONNY BILL is the pick of today’s tricky card. He was running on well over 1800m when finishing 2nd, 1 .75 lengths behind the winner two weeks ago. Prior to that the 5yr old bay gelding destroyed the field over this course and distance, six weeks previously. This isn’t the strongest of fields and he looks hard to oppose.

This is an extremely tricky Merit Rated 71 Handicap and caution is advised. The 7yr old chestnut geldi ng could cause the upset back over this course and distance. His last run over 1800m is best ignored, as he was slow away and badly drawn. He jumps from pole position today and J.P vd Merwe jumps back on board.
