Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1: DRURY LANE(1)
Race 3: LIZARD’S PURSUIT(11)
Race 4: THE LONSDALE(1)
Race 6: ZAGORA(6)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: CRONOLOGICAL(6)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

CRONOLOGICAL continues to be costly to follow but thanks to some pleasing displays, she will once again have her fair share of supporters. This shorter trip and the re-engagement of Anton Marcus are very encouraging. The daughter of Mogok will wear blinkers tonight and she should be given another chance.

Race 2: TEXAS COWBOY(1)
Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Tony RIVALLAND

TEXAS COWBOY has often been involved in the finish and he is effective on both local surfaces. The form of his last start has been franked and this son of Casey Tibbs represents an in-form yard. He is c & d suited and should go very close from his midfield draw in this field.

Race 4: NOORDHOEK ICE(8)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

NOORDHOEK ICE ran on smartly for a decent 3rd behind two form runners over this c & d on his local debut, two weeks ago. His Cape conditioner seldom pushes them hard after a layoff and the chestnut colt should have plenty more improvement to come. He will be fitter now and should take a power of beating from a good draw.

TOP BET
Race 6: ZAGORA(6)

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO – Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

ZAGORA relished the rise in ground as she made good improvement when running on well for 3rd behind a subsequent winner over this c & d, six weeks ago. The runner-up franked that form further with an effortless victory next time out and this daughter of Lateral has her peak run tonight. She should continue to improve and is the horse to beat in a weak field.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: ROY’S GUARDIAN(5)
Jockey: Mandla NTULI – Trainer: Alistair GORDON

ROY’S GUARDIAN was always going to love reverting to sprints and she was an impressive, albeit narrow maiden winner over this trip on the grass in her comeback run, eight weeks ago. The well-related daughter of Rebel King has been consistent from day one and she could be better than the handicapper’s assessment. She will enjoy the likely suicidal pace of this handicap and as she displayed last time, she should be finishing well. The Alistair Gordon inmate could cause a major upset on her handicap debut.
