Winning Form Best Bets

Race 2: ROY’S ROLL’S ROYCE(9)
Race 3: QUEEN OF THRONES(1)
Race 6: JET AVENGER(3)
Race 8: SEEKING THE DREAM(6)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: THE LONSDALE(2)
Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH – Trainer: Doug CAMPBELL

THE LONSDALE has come back to form since a long break and he loves racing on this surface. The Mogok gelding now has his peak run and he is suited to this extra furlong. His wide draw could work in his favour as he finishes well and his jockey will keep him out of the kickback.

Race 2: SCOTS PARTY(1) – TOP BET
Jockey: Sean CORMACK – Trainer: Paul GADSBY

SCOTS PARTY renews his rivalry with MUSUCHELALOMISSUS but the likely short-priced favourite could be an entirely different proposition with blinkers fitted. He has all the right credentials and should gallop better than when he needed to be hard ridden throughout his last outing. He has shown his true potential on this surface and should take a power of beating.

Race 4: WAY OF ESCAPE(1)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The lightly raced WAY OF ESCAPE won a good maiden event second time out and she performed creditably on her handicap debut, three weeks ago. She only tired late after setting the pace over nine furlongs on this track that day and will be cherry-ripe on her third run back from a break. The daughter of Greys Inn drops in class and should easily handle the ten furlongs. She should take a power of beating despite her big mass.

Race 5: JAY BOY(2)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY – Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

This is a very competitive handicap and another exciting finish could materialize. JAY BOY has a good polytrack record & he stayed on strongly for a close 3rd over a mile on this surface, seven days ago. He has triumphed up to nine furlongs in Gauteng but his pedigree suggests that he will stay all day. The Van Zyl inmate drops in class and he should go very close, if he has taken that run well. The top jockeys Delpech and Marcus have secured decent rides in this event and could provide stiff opposition for the first selection.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 6: FULCRUM(4) (Each Way)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Weiho MARWING

Just nine runners go to post for this competitive handicap but the pace shouldn’t be an issue and a true result is expected. The six-year old gelding FULCRUM has only had six career outings thus far and that emphasises his troubles. The well-related Captain Al gelding began his career with much promise on the Highveld and is obviously loaded with ability. He caught the eye in his comeback run on his polytrack debut but felt the effects of those exertions when below-par last time out. Nevertheless, he now has his peak run and could easily win a race of this nature.
