RACE 1

FORTUNE PATROL raced wide last time but still stayed on strongly at the business end. He is drawn wide but will get all the necessary assistance from Moreira in the saddle and is expected to be doing his best work late. SKY GEM may have produced his run too early last time when quickening from the 750m mark. He has cracked a much better draw and should finish closer as a result. YOUNG GLORY brings moderate recent form into this opening contest. He finished well on this course in November and will have to repeat that type of effort to have any say.

RACE 2

A LA KING won with a ton in hand on debut. He shifted at the 200m mark on that occasion and the manner in which he drew off in the closing suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual. WINS ALL is a sort that is always thereabouts. He is well-drawn, shoulders a handy galloping weight and gets current champion jockey Purton in the irons. H Z TOURBILLON is an unexposed sort who raced wide on debut and will come on leaps with that run under the belt.

RACE 3

PEAK TO PEAK wasn’t disgraced last time despite having to check for a run at the 600m mark. He was only caught in the latter stages of his penultimate run under Moreira and it is encouraging to see the pair reunited. JUST NOT LISTENING will have to shoulder top weight but finished a decent second last time out. He was no match for the winner on that occasion but Teetan has kept faith in the ride and could pose a threat to the top selection. MASTER ALBERT finally found a form return last time out. He is drawn wide but doesn’t take on the strongest field and can run into the money.

RACE 4

SPONTANEOUS is the best bet on the card. He moved up with vigour last time out when only run out of it in the latter stages. He doesn’t take on the strongest field this evening and if getting away on terms, is likely to make amends. CHEEKY PRAWN has plenty scope for improvement . He wasn’t outclassed last time, is still on the upgrade and should be in peak condition for this event. COURAGEOUS DRAGON is better than his below par last run. His prior form is fairly attractive and it will be no surprise to see him bounce back to his best.

RACE 5

BRIGHT KID finished strongly last time despite overracing. Purton has retained the ride and if settling in the running should give another good account of himself. WINNING STEED was hampered at the 600m mark last time out. He is drawn best of all and if bouncing back to his best can pose a threat to the top selection. CHARIZARD brings moderate recent form into this contest and will need to repeat his 06 January effort to have a say.

RACE 6

NUNCHUKS won his last start going away. He hit the front at the 100m mark on that occasion and ran on powerfully. He performs well for Ho and is tough to oppose on paper. CHEERFUL STAR is a sort that likes to produce his run from off the pace. He ran on from far back in his last start and will be mowing down the frontrunners in the latter stages. BUNDLE OF DELIGHT will have to shoulder top weight but is well-drawn and if putting his best foot forward can run into the money.

RACE 7

SKY SHOW was given every chance last time but perhaps racing three-deep cost him the race. He placed in his penultimate run on this course, has his first run this year and if fit should make his presence felt with Moreira in the saddle. MOMENTUM GALAXY won under this rider in December. His last run over the minimum trip was eye-catching and cannot be ignored. LOVING A BOOM ran on from far back last time out. He is drawn wide, is likely to settle at the rear of the field and will be chasing the pack in the run down to the line.

RACE 8

GALLANT CROWN reeled off the hat-trick of wins last time out. He has shown a preference for racing at “The Valley” and has struck up a decent partnership with Teetan. TOTAL POWER was sent to the head of affairs last time and continued to overrace. If settling in the running he is capable of finding a form return. INCANTO PREPARED ran well last time despite taking a bump at the start. His best career performances have come under Moreira and is it promising to see the pair reconnected.

RACE 9

WE THE SOUTH almost went from gun to tape after setting a decent pace in his last start. He was caught in the latter stages and will be looking to go one better in the lucky last. He performs well for Borges and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. IGNITING is a solid pacesetter that won his last start. He is drawn better than the top selection and if getting to the front may be difficult to peg back in the closing stages. HANDSOME BO BO moved up like a winner last time and was only passed in the final furlong. He is likely to settle just off the speed and challenge the frontrunners in the dash to the wire.
