ASCENDING HEIGHTS has finished second in her last three starts and will be hoping to go one better this afternoon. Her saddle slipped and was also reported to have made an abnormal respiratory noise last time out over 1900m and did very well to finish where she did. She lost her penultimate outing in the boardroom and probably deserves a change in fortune.

FIERY FORT has won his first two starts for his new trainer, the first of which was over this c&d. He will be looking to complete the hat-trick here. He has a wide draw to overcome, but he likes to be up there in his races and could use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

SAIL SMARTLY won and then finished a close up third in his first two starts for his new trainer since relocating from KZN. Both of those runs were on the polytrack, but his previous grass form is solid and the switch back to that surface should not present an issue.
