WINTER SMOKE is a speedy daughter of What A Winter from the Ashley Fortune stable. She was far from disgraced when finishing fourth in the Grade 1 Allan Robertson Championship last time. She was ultra- impressive when winning on debut by over eight lengths. She is the only winner in this race and may be a class above the rest of the field. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and the combination should be tough to beat.

SILENT CRUSADE is one of the better bets on this afternoon’s card. She was making some late progress when finishing just out of the money in the Poinsettia Stakes last time. The classy filly is unbeaten from two starts on this course and has a decent record over this distance. Keagan de Melo knows her well and she should be a class above the rest of this line-up.

CHITENGO ran a decent race in her last start over ten furlongs at Turffontein. She raced from a handy position that day, but had to ease in the latter stages. The daughter of Elusive Fort steps back up in trip this afternoon and will be looking to keep her unbeaten record intact over this distance.

HELLOFARIDE’S last two starts since the return of racing have been good. He moved up like a winner in his last outing, but may not have seen out the ten furlongs at this stage of his career.
