PORTICO made plenty of improvement second time out when taken down to Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He showed plenty of speed that day, but had to be eased at the 300M mark. He recovered well to finish a creditable second. If he has travelled well back to the Highveld, he should be a big runner here.

MARSHALL FOCH has ultra-consistent formlines to his credit. He likes to set the pace in his races and from a handy draw, he should find himself in his customary role today. He has his peak run here and looks to be the one to side with. Red-hot Warren Kennedy who knows the gelding well, retains the ride.

IDEAL WOLFF was making good late progress despite hanging in the closing stages in his debut over six furlongs and seems likely to enjoy the step up to 1450M. He will have come on with that run and from a handy draw and with Gavin Lerena up, he could be the one that they all have to beat.
