International Racing: Dieppe – Monday 07 June 2020

A very tough and competitive eight-race programme is scheduled for Dieppe on Monday, with good to soft underfoot conditions predicted.

The best bet is LISARD ZARA in the lucky last race. She narrowly failed in her comeback effort when beaten by just a length and she can make amends this afternoon.

Best Bet: LISARD ZARA (Race 8)
Value Bet: AKYO (Race 3)

Race 1
Not much form to recommend in the opener for this afternoon. TWIN BOY improved on his poor debut effort when placed fourth at Lyon-Parilly and under these conditions could be a tough juvenile to peg back in the closing stages. ONEONECHOP has just had the one start and he will surely come on from the experience. PROSECCO is son of Starspangledbanner and he gets top-class rider Barzalona in the irons. Any support in the market for him should be respected.

Race 2
LONGNY finished runner-up behind Penny Whistle in her debut at Angers and she will come on nicely from that effort. With Barzalona in the irons, she may be a tough filly to peg back in the closing stages of the race. CITADELLE found plenty of support in her debut effort at Chantilly, which would suggest that she was showing her connections good work back at home. She looks like she can pose a serious threat to the top selection. TREAUVILLE is making natural improvement. She was only beaten half a length in her last start and can cause an upset in this field.

Race 3
AKYO just got pipped last time on this track by Salocin and if repeating that type of effort then he will go close in this contest. He will benefit from a 4kgs apprentice allowance. CROSSDREAM has finished runner-up in his las two starts, his latest over twelve furlongs and will have no issues getting this trip with Guillochon up. SOUNDPROOF placed in her comeback run at Moulins and she will benefit from a 1.5kgs apprentice allowance in this contest.

Race 4
TIPTOP was only beaten just over half a length at Strasbourg last time out and she will strip much fitter this afternoon, having her second run after a rest. EN DANSANT possibly needed that last effort after a six-month layoff and should come on nicely this afternoon. The grey MIDGREY is drawn wide but she has her peak run this afternoon and can run into the places with Pasquier in the saddle.

Race 5
This is another juvenile contest where some caution is advised. Of the runners that have form, TEMPT ME NOT looks difficult to oppose on paper in this contest. He looks a promising sort in the making and can shed his maiden tag this afternoon. WHITE CANDLE placed fourth in a small field last time at Vichy and she will benefit from a 3kgs apprentice allowance. ROCKOVIL disappointed on debut when fancied in the market and she can make amends this afternoon.

Race 6
GO FAST has his peak run this afternoon and could make it back-to-back wins after recently coming out on top at Chantilly. The 4kgs apprentice allowance also makes him difficult to oppose at the weights. The nine-year-old mare COME AND FIND ME finished runner-up in her last two starts and then went on a well-deserved break. If returning fit, she can pose a threat to the top selection. LUCKY BREAK has placed third in his last three starts and can run into the places again.

Race 7
EXCALIBUR has his peak run this afternoon and has done well in his two prior starts. He jumps from a neat draw and with Piccone up, he could be tough to peg back in the closing stages of this contest. MYSTIC MONARCH impressed in his comeback outing at Vichy when winning by a length and can make it back-to-back wins in this Class. RED FIFTY is held by the second selection on her latest but must be considered for the places.

Race 8
LISARD ZARA was only beaten a length by Edgar Best in her comeback effort when finishing runner-up and if repeating that type of effort then she will be tough filly to peg back in the final furlong. CRISTAL MARVELOUS is held by the top selection on her penultimate run. She was only two lengths behind though and if finding extra this afternoon then she may be able to reverse that formline.
