Race 1
AVIATRICE found
plenty support in the market on debut when finishing fifth in a large field at
Durtal. She looks to be a promising sort in the making and should go close in
this contest. KARLARINA finished
midfield last time out but will strip much fitter for this event and could pose
a threat to the top selection. CABIYA
makes her debut. She is a daughter of Lawman out of Caminiya and any support
for her must be respected.
Race 2
REVENTADOR is the
best bet on the card. He placed at Strasbourg last time out and has plenty of
scope for improvement. He should take a power of beating in this contest. DARKOT is back from a long layoff and
will have strengthened during the break. He has only has the one run in
yielding conditions but it is encouraging that world-class rider Soumillon
jumps aboard and he could pose the sole threat to the top selection.
Race 3
SISSI DOLOISE
returned well from a layoff when finishing runner-up at Deauville and despite
her wide draw, she looks a big runner in this contest. The Irish-bred DANDY PLACE is also drawn wide but she
may get across without using too much energy and will benefit from a 1.5kgs
apprentice allowance. ELVIS was just
pipped by a neck before his rest and if returning fresh, can challenge for top
honours in this contest.
LONROCK placed
last start at Terang on a soft track when fresh and expected to settle off the
speed, well placed. SHOWBAG
drops 1kg from last run and likely to race off the speed, could threaten. KALLESKE has two placings from seven
runs this prep and drops in weight, each-way claims. CHAPARRAL BELLE resumes after a spell of 24 weeks and ran
fifth at Terang when last first-up, sneaky chance.LONROCK placed last start at Terang on a soft track when

HEAVENS DOOR
shoulders a handy galloping mass of just 53kgs and has a creditable victory on
the all-weather track. BRAZILIAN
TALISKER
placed in her comeback run and is slowly progressing with racing.
She looks the biggest danger to the top selection. HERISHEF is back from a long break but only got beaten by a nose
last time out and must be considered. FLIGHT
DE JUILLEY
is another one back from a long rest but can run into the places
if back to his best.
Race 5
NORWEIGAN LORD will
not be short of race-fitness and he placed in his last outing at Vichy. LONGROY finished runner-up in his
comeback run over this distance and looks a serious danger to the top
selection. BUBBLE BROOK has not
raced for a year but is consistent and won his last start by a head at
Chantilly over ten furlongs. He could upset in this contest.
Race 6
SYNCOPATION
placed in her debut on a heavy track in March when only beaten two and a half
lengths behind Caribbean Bay. Prominent rider Theo Bachelot takes the ride and
the pair should be right there at the business end. CHEERLEADER is back from a six month layoff and could make a smart
return in this moderate, providing she returns fit. AKYO is a male that could upset the top two selections. He placed
fourth in a small field at Vichy last time out and can go one or two better
this afternoon.
Race 7
EVERSWEET will
attempt to pull off the hat-trick of wins this afternoon after winning by a
head at Vichy over a mile in her last start and should enjoy the rise in trip
with a 4kgs claiming apprentice aboard.
BROKEN LAND
is back from a three-month layoff and won over ten furlongs
last time so this trip should be no problem at all. JACQUES COUER faces stronger but can run into the places of this
contest.
Race 8
MADE TO LEAD
finished runner-up after a rest at Saint Cloud when only beaten half a length by
Alabaa and will take a power of beating with multiple-time French champion
jockey Soumillon in the irons. INCITATUS
gets 1.5kgs off the back and placed last time out behind Champ De Mars and
looks the biggest threat to the top selection. CALVIN had good form before his last run when possibly in need of
it and can run into the places with a 4kgs claiming apprentice up.
Race 9
ON THE SEA is the
slight preference as he has race-fitness on his side, having already had the
one run this season when winning by a head at Chantilly. It looks like a match
race on paper with CAPLA GILDA being the only real danger in the
contest. He won by a neck at Chantilly last time out at and the only concern is
that he is returning from a seven-month layoff.
