Race 1
A small field of
five runner face the starter in this the opening event on today’s program and SO
YOU CAN
is taken as the marginal top pick. He was
only just beaten on debut over 1050M when attracting plenty of betting support
and will be hoping to make amends here. THE KRONE has his first run
without the benefit of a barrier trial. Any betting support for him should be
respected. AFRICAN AWESOME has only had the one run, but should have
come on with the run under his belt and will be aided by having 3kgs removed
from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. CAPRICORN RIDGE finished 3.5L
behind when making his debut over 1050M. He too would have gained from the
outing and could trouble the top three selections.

Race 2
With the one late
scratching, the field has been reduced to just seven runners, but finding the
winner is no easy task. SIMPLY DREAMING
 may be
able to show the way home. She is a 5yr old mare taking on two geldings and the
balance of the field made up of her own sex. She raced wide in her last outing
and then never went on with her effort, but if able to repeat her penultimate
run when winning over 1300M, she could be the one to side with today. FLOP takes a drop in class from her last outing and has cracked pole
position. PRETTY GLASS is draw one outside the latter and stayed on well last
time out over seven furlongs. She should be involved in the finish here. ELUSIVE
NATURE
was hampered in her last start over six furlongs and should be afforded
another chance today.

Race 3
BERTWHISTLE is a 7yr
old mare taking on the boys, but she ran on strongly last time out over 2030m
and should enjoy the drop in distance. She has draw ten, but should be doing
her best work late. EXALTED AMBITION held on well to win his last outing over
2053M and seems capable of completing his double here. MONTEFERRANTE is a 4yr
old filly who renews her rivalry with A KNIGHT IN PARIS. She did finish 1.3L
behind the latter in their last clash over 2065M and as they meet on the same
weight terms today, that result should be confirmed. However, the former is
preferred as she could be better suited to the shorter trip.

Race 4
DINGA is
a speedy sort who just failed to win last time out over six furlongs. The drop
in distance is sure to be to the geldings liking and from gate five, he looks
the value in the race. FORTUNE FOLLOWS stayed on well
last time out over 1050M and should be running down the leaders in the latter
stages of the contest. LARKHAM was slightly hampered
in his last start and did well to finish where he did. He has pulled pole
position and should be right up there in the mix. DIMAGGIO won his maiden on the synthetic track last time out, but is
equally at home on this service and should not be overlooked here.

Race 5
CUPID’S BOW is
a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she has her peak run here and was staying
on well last time out over this distance. She has a handy six draw and should
be one of the leading contenders today. BRAY STREET BOSS finished well to win his last
outing over five furlongs suggesting that the extra ground will be to his
liking. DIXON STREET is a 3yr old filly
looking to complete her
hat-trick. She is draw nine of eleven and steps up in trip, but she fought on
well for victory last time out over five furlongs and on that showing, she
should enjoy the extra ground. MIDNIGHT STORM won last time
out over six furlongs at this venue, despite being friendless in the betting
markets. He is a must for all bets.

Race 6
DREAMED is
a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she drops in trip here and has pole
position. The shorter journey should be to her liking and she should be right
up there in the dash down to the wire. BLOW TORCH finished second
last time out over seven furlongs despite being bumped on a few occasions. He
looks the obvious danger to the top selection. FULTON STREET won
going away last time out over 1867M and should be closing down the frontrunners
over the closing stages of the race. OFFICE JIM was making good late progress
last time out over seven furlongs and should welcome going the extra journey
today.

Race 7
Two 4yr old fillies
could fight out the finish here, with SCHILLDORA
 getting
the nod for top spot. She drops in trip from the six furlongs of her last out
and should appreciate the shorter journey. She has draw nine to negotiate, but
should still be seen as a big runner here. EQUAL LOVE on
the other hand has pulled pole position. She was not persevered with in her
last outing and that run is best ignored. On her prior form, she should
threaten the former. BRIMARVI VEHERO just failed
when third last time out over five furlongs and should be involved in the
finish today. TERIUM, although finishing sixth last time out over six
furlongs, was just 2.3L behind the victor. He is not without a chance in this
field.

Race 8
LACE AND WHISKEY is
a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she was 3.3L behind in her last outing
over this c&d and dropped her jockey in her penultimate run. She won three
runs back over five furlongs and should be right up there in the firing line. PALE ALE was just under a length behind the winner last time out over
six furlongs and will have his cause bolstered by having 3kgs removed from his
back courtesy of his claiming apprentice. GOD’S PENNY stayed on well in his
last start over five furlongs and should be right at home over the extra trip. AUSSIE
JACK
is a speedy sort who was hampered during his last
outing over 1100M. With better luck in running today, he should be a factor in
this line-up.

Race 9
Two fillies could
dominate the finish to this race and complete the exacta. ALMADRAVA is drawn in
gate three and likes to race up with the pace. She is likely to appreciate the
drop in distance here. THE PUBLIKIN
 stayed
on when winning her last outing over1100M and is another one who should enjoy
the shorter distance of today’s contest. APPALACHIAN stayed on well in his last start over
1100M and is sure to be doing his best work over the closing stages. PAPALET
 finished
just behind the first two runners last time out over 1050M and should
appreciate the slightly shorter journey.
