Race 6

SUPERVISORhas finished second in his last two outings, the latest over 1500M where he ended up five and a half lengths behind the winner. He was making good late progress that day and seems likely to appreciate the extra ground on offer here. From gate two, he will be looking to go one better today and is taken to be the value in the race. ZOUZOUZALOcame five wide into the straight before finishing fourth last time out over nine furlongs, just over four and a half lengths off the victor. The form of that race has been franked and although drawn wide out at gate eleven, he should be doing his best work late. ST JUST has finished third in his last two runs, the latest when staying on to finish 3.6L behind the winner over nine furlongs. He is drawn one outside the latter and should be included in all bets.

Race 7

AVOWALhit the front at the 200M mark and was then eased down at the wire when winning his last start over six furlongs by nearly three lengths. He has only had the four runs to date, winning two of them, so he clearly has some ability. He jumps from a handy draw three and will get 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. As such, he is made the best bet on the day’s program. ALL TO DOhas consistent formlines to his name and followed up his penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a second place finish next time out over the same distance, just a short-head off the winner. He has drawn the widest of them all in gate eleven, but he is a speedy sort who should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. FEDERAL AGENTis seldom far off the action and finished fourth last time out over 1300M, just a neck back from the winner. He has pulled draw six and should be involved in the finish.

Race 8

LOUD NOISEhad finished second in his two prior runs before being somewhat disappointing last time out when finishing last over seven furlongs, 7.1L adrift of the winner. He was immediately rested for 15 weeks and returns here without having the benefit of a barrier trial, so his fitness will have to be taken on trust. The blinkers are removed for the first time and he is stuck out wide in gate eleven, but he gets ex-SA jockey Sean Cormack in the irons, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle. MY ODDETTE on the other hand gets blinkers fitted for the first time and has far kinder draw two. He has only had the one run, finishing third on debut over five furlongs, a neck behind the winner. He would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he should be right up there in the mix. STRICTLY PHYSICAL has had just the two outings, finishing third first time out over five furlongs and then eighth next time out when stepping up to 1300M and returning from a 22 week break. He will have to negotiate a wide gate twelve, but gets the services of another ex-SA jockey in the form of Robbie Fradd and should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up.

Race 9

FORT WAYNEhad made steady improvement in his last two runs, winning the latest over a mile by half a length. He finished second in his penultimate start over this c&d, so the step up in trip should not be an issue. His handy draw two will do him no harm and another honest performance from him should be forthcoming. JOY’S REWARDis a 5yr old mare taking on the boys. She finished second in her last run over a mile at this track, this despite shifting around over the closing stages of the contest. She jumps from gate six and should give the mares a good run for their money. RUMBERELLAmissed out on his hat-trick when finishing sixth last time out over this distance, two lengths behind the winner. He has pulled draw three and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways here.
