Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Friday’s international racing coming your way from Dundalk.
Race
1 No1 CHARMED (Nap)
Trainer:
Joseph O’Brien – Jockey: Mikey Sheehy
CHARMED
has looked a better colt when running on the Polytrack, as demonstrated by a
runaway triumph over course and distance last month. He’d been costly to follow
before that, but in fairness has taken home a cheque on all but one of his six
career starts
,
and should be right at home in this follow-up attempt.
Race
2 No1 COOPER’S HAWK
Trainer:
Jessica Harrington – Jockey: Shane Foley
There’s
not much to go on in this maiden, with the safe option being to rely on the
greater experience of COOPER’S HAWK. His form figures of 043985 hide his true
ability, as he’s taken on some decent tackle and even though poorly drawn could
know too much for his foes.
Race
5 No11 MERCHANT OF VENICE
Trainer:
Adrian McGuinness – Jockey: Cian MacRedmond
MERCHANT
OF VENICE gets a marginal call over Settle For Bay in perhaps the best race on
the card. The selection has gone close on both outings here since returning
from a break, and his narrow defeat at the hooves of Juyush was given a tidy
boost when that horse went in again on Wednesday. Settle For Bay is however a
must include for all exotics now that he’s rediscovered how to win.
Race
7 No8 EAGLE’S FLIGHT
Trainer:
Michael Halford – Jockey: Adam Farragher
The
relatively unexposed EAGLE’S FLIGHT makes abundant appeal on handicap debut
following a snug triumph at the start of the month. It’s given the Gleneagles
colt a perfect confidence boost for this move into handicap company.
