Race 3: RESPECTABLE MISS (2)

Jockey: Cheyne G – Trainer: Crawford B

RESPECTABLE MISS showed good improvement in her last start over 1950m on this course. She was running on well at the finish that day, but found one too good in the form of Silver Maria. The daughter of Jackson looks to be a progressive type and with Greg Cheyne retaining the ride, she may be the one to beat.

Race 5: MISSISIPPI BURNI (1)
Jockey: Zackey C – Trainer: Marcus A

MISSISIPPI BURNING ran a good race when finishing fourth behind Clouds Unfold over a distance short of her best, four weeks ago. The daughter of Captain Al will love the step up to the nine furlongs and she should be at peak fitness.

Race 8: KAPTEIN (7)

Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Crawford B

KAPTEIN followed up his maiden win with a decent fourth-place finish over 1500m on this course. He raced from a handy position that day and stayed on well at the finish. The son of Captain Al should be at home over the nine furlongs and with Anton Marcus retaining the ride, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

Race 9: TWICETHEQUALITY (4)

Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J

TWICETHEQUALITY finished 0.4 lengths behind MARINA last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The drop to the nine furlongs should suit her well and from pole position, she may be the one to beat.

SOVEREIGN SPIRIT finished 2 lengths behind NEXUS last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The 5yo gelding should strip much fitter this afternoon and may be the one to side with.
