Race 5.

SELBUROSE had finished second in her two runs prior to going one better to be a head winner of her maiden race last time out over six furlongs. She takes on stronger here, but she has only had the five runs to date and could be good enough to complete her double here. Her draw five will do her no harm. LET IT POUR is seldom far off the action and tried to go from jump to wire before ending up in sixth place last time out over six furlongs, one and a half lengths behind the winner. From her handy gate three, she could be the immediate danger to the top choice. MISS TWILIGHT put two and a half lengths between herself and the opposition to win her last outing over 1300M. The form of that race has been franked and jumping from draw six, she should be included in all bets.

Race 6.

SUPER CONTENDER followed up his penultimate run victory over 1300M with a second-place finish, one and a half-length back from the victor next time out when stepping up to seven furlongs. He returns from a 14 week rest and one barrier trial, but he is lightly raced having only had the four runs to date, posting two wins and two seconds to his name. He will have to negotiate draw seven, but he is a speedy sort so this may not be too big an issue. As such, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card. RANGES has finished third in his last two starts, the latest when 1.3L back over 1300M, despite racing three-wide into the home straight. He won over this six-furlong sprint three runs back and a repeat of that effort would see him threaten the top pick, starting from his draw three. BULALA steps up to six furlongs after three solid runs over five furlongs, the latest when just a short-head behind the winner. He looked the possible winner at the 200M mark that day and although facing draw nine, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 7.

HE’S A HOTSHOT has finished second in his last two outings since returning from an 11-week rest, the latest over six furlongs at this venue, only a short-head back from the winner. He was making good late progress in that contest and will be looking to go one better today. He faces gate eleven, but he is likely to be dropped out of the race in the early stages and then should be doing his best work in the latter stages. ZOUOLOGIST on the other hand has cracked pole position and has finished second in his last three starts since resuming after an even longer 18-week absence. He was only collared in the shadow of the post last time out over this c&d to be denied victory by a head. He is likely to turn in another honest performance today. CATAPULT has consistent form lines to his name and did not have the clearest of passages in the home straight before ending up in fifth place last time out over the c&d, 1.2L behind the winner. He will have to overcome a wide draw twelve, but should not be lightly ignored in this line-up.

Race 8.

MISS EINSTEIN is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys. She was hampered at the start before finishing third last time out over seven furlongs, just over two lengths behind the winners. She finished strongly that day suggesting that the extra ground on offer today will be to her liking. She has her peak run here and although drawn in gate thirteen out of fifteen, she looks to be the value in the race. SUPREME POLARITY has posted two solid last efforts over seven furlongs, the latest when fourth, a length adrift of the winner. He overraced in that contest, but if settling today, he should put his pole position to good use and test the top selection. STAR KAREN is another 5yr old mare in the race. She finished fourth last time out over this c&d, two lengths behind the winner. That was good improvement from her two prior runs over further and if she can reproduce that effort here, from her gate two, she should be right up there in the firing line.
