RACE 1

METHANE was only beaten a neck by Nunchuks last time out. He will benefit from a 3kgs claiming apprentice and looks a strong contender in the opening contest from his inside barrier. HAY RUN steps up in class after his latest victory but he shoulders just 51.5kgs and may be up to the task at hand. KUNGFUMASTER PANDA is held by the top selection on his penultimate run but if putting his best foot forward then he can finish in the money.

RACE 2

TREASURE CHEST represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. His recent conqueror Vitus Star has come out to win again since and the form line is getting more attractive. He looks to be well placed in this contest and should take a power of beating. SOCKET ELITE was beaten by the narrowest of margins last time out. The Aussie-bred will have the benefit of jumping in pole position and he should be able to pose a threat to the top selection. YOU HAVE MY WORD followed up his recent win with a fair effort behind Amazing Agility. If repeating that sort of effort then he should be right there where it matters most.

RACE 3

READY CONQUEROR and CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN were separated by the narrowest of margins last time out. The pair meet each other on very similar weight terms and they shouldn’t be separated by much when they reach the business end of affairs. FLYING MONKEY has placed in his last three outings under French ace Alex Badel and the pair can run into the money once again.

RACE 4

PEGASUS GLORY has outstanding form to his credit. He has his first run at Happy Valley and if handling the tight city circuit bend then he should take a power of beating. LITTLE PLAYER made an eye-catching debut when he ran on nicely from midfield to finish fourth. He will come on nicely with that experience under the belt and looks a threat. SHINING ON brings ultra-consistent form into the race. He has reeled off two victories already this season and has struck up a decent partnership with his current rider.

RACE 5

GOODLUCK GOODLUCK dictated terms well in his last start. He was only outrun late and found one better in the form of Oriental Elite. He may adopt similar tactics today and should be expected to go close with his regular rider aboard. SPRINT FORWARD has been racing well over this distance with an apprentice aboard. He faces stronger but is in a rich vein of form and must be respected. KINDA COOL shoulders top weight but he is the class in the race and it will be no surprise to see him get back to winning ways.

RACE 6

WE THE SOUTH stepped up well to Class 3 last time out when winning by a length. He reunites with Joao Moreira who partnered him in his penultimate start and the hat-trick looks very possible. WILD WEST WING brings ultra-consistent form in this race. His regular rider is now aboard the top selection and he faces a much stiffer task this afternoon. DIAMOND BRILLIANT has placed in his last three outings. He finished third in his comeback run and should strip a much fitter horse this time around.

RACE 7

MURRAY’S PARTNERS performs in Class 3 for the first time. He has won three of his last four starts and the manner in which he achieved those victories suggests that he can handle the step up. BLASTOISE has performed well in his last two starts under apprentice Jerry Chau and he looks fairly handicapped with just 55.5kgs to shoulder. TASHIDELEK is in search of a hat-trick of wins. He shoulders top weight though and won’t have things easy.

RACE 8

SCORES OF FUN is the best bet on the card. He has twice from just five starts and is still a talent on the rise. He looked a winner in his last start but was beaten a nose by Guy Dragon. Joao Moreira knows this chestnut well and the pair will be difficult to peg back in the lucky last race.  COMPASSION SPIRIT got up to win by a neck last time out. The manner in which he got the job done suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual. GREEN REIGN produced a typical second run after a rest last time out. Karis Teetan rides him for the first time and he may be able to coax a little extra out of the son of Lope De Vega.
