RACE 1
PLATO from the Khoo stable had an eye-catching last run earlier this month over 1600m. The son of Pierro will strip fitter and is in with a chance. The 5 year-old bay gelding CATCH THE TIGER showed some form return last time when finishing 4th over 1700m, if fit and well he should finish in the money. The ultra-consistent HWASONG from the Stephen Gray yard is often thereabouts and with the return of champion jockey Vlad Duric back in the irons. The son of Declaration Of War must be respected.
RACE 2
REAL EFECTO from the David Kok yard is improving with each outing. The 3-year old bay gelding seems to enjoy turf racing better and will be thereabouts despite the wide draw. The son of Smart Missile IRONPRINCE ran on strongly last time when finishing a short head 2nd over 1200m. He steps in trip and will enjoy the extra furlong. The 3-year old bay gelding BEYOND COMPARED improved in his second attempt over 1200m. He will strip fitter and like the 2nd selection will enjoy the extra 200m.
RACE 3
TUESDAY from the Michael Clements yard only career win came over this distance. You can put a line through his last run as he was caught wide. He will strip fitter and can make amends here. I AM SACRED had an eye-catching last run over this distance earlier this month. The son of I Am Invincible jumps from a wide draw today but the 4kg claim may help. VULCAN from Shane Donald Baertschiger stable got up in time to share the spoils with Proof Perfect in his last start. No reason why he can’t have a say in this.
RACE 4
The Steven Burridge yard saddles IMA and could well hold the key to this race and the selection is one of his newcomers to Kranji . He placed over this distance in Australia, he has trialled well and looks ready. SAGE is the stablemate to the top selection. He has also trialled well and has decent form in New Zealand from only a handful of runs. His one of the more interesting runners here. The 4-year old chestnut gelding SHOWBOUND finished third last week over 1100m. He will strip fitter and can run well again.
RACE 5
SESON from Steven Burridge stable takes a massive drop in grade after finishing seventh in the Group 3 Singapore Golden Horseshoe behind Boomba . This looks to be much easier and is very winnable for the son of Dalghar. The 4-year old bay gelding LIM’S UNIQUE won well last time out and should be right in the mix once again if he overcomes the wide barrier. RED ROAR from the Saifudin Ismail stable is seldom far off. The son of So Secret is a runner in decent form for the grade and should be included.
RACE 6
KASSAB from the Michael Clements yard placed in the UK for trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam around this trip and has the strongest form on show here in a very weak race. The unraced WAWASAN is a half-brother to four winners, including the six-time winner Shadowy Waters. Has trialled well and should be respected here. BALOR finished 7th in his latest run on the 23 January over 1400m. The run before that he ran on strongly from last to finish 2nd over 1200m on the 03 January.
RACE 7
HIDDEN PROMISE from the Mark Walker stable had fair comeback when finishing third over 1200m. He will strip fitter and prefer the extra distance. He can go very close. ZOFFSPEED from the Ricardo Le Grange yard won well last time over 1600m. The 4-year old bay gelding commands plenty of respect here. FORT MUSTANG is showing good recent form the only question mark is that he has to prove he stays but he is trained by the right man to do so.
RACE 8
GENTLEMEN EXELLENT from the Shane Donald Baertschiger stable caught the eye on his Kranji debut when finishing second over 1000m. He will strip fitter today and has stacks of ability. The Lee Freedman yard saddles DELAWARE who had a fair comeback run last time. The son of Shooting To Win will strip fitter today and interesting to note his only career win came over this distance. MY BIG BOSS ran on strongly last time out to finish second over this distance. He might settle closer to the speed from a handy draw and must be respected here.
RACE9
The ultra-consistent IMPLEMENT from the Michael Clements yard is in good form. He may get there a fraction too late but with some luck, in running he should go one better today. IN ALL HIS GLORY is a two-time winner over this course and distance but this is much stronger company. He is progressive sort who can measure up here. AUGUSTANO will be more competitive here back in a Class 3 handicap. He is well drawn here and will relish the extra furlong.
RACE 10
KNIGHT LOVE from the Michael Clements yard won very impressively last time over 1000m. The 4-year old bay gelding is in sparkling form. His drawn ideally and is the one to beat here. CALIFORNIA had to be used up to come across last start and was found wanting inside the closing stages when finishing third. He is well drawn today and can go close. PROOF PERFECT dead-heated with Vulcan in his last start. He looks to have improved further back home and has claims here.
