Race 1
Only four of the field in this the opening event on today’s program have had runs and the winner may well come from one the unraced entrants. However, of the raced runners, SUPRINA seems to have the best form. She is a filly taking on the boys, but she was just under two lengths behind the winner on debut over five furlongs and should have come on with the run under her belt. The betting should be the best guide as to the chances of the unraced runners, particularly as they have not had the benefit of a barrier trial. IMMORTAL LOVE has cracked pole position. ABATED is drawn a bit wide, but should be considered. OURCONI has an even wider draw but could be worth a look.

Race 2
CANFORD’S SUN has solid formlines to his name, with his last two starts being over this distance. From his handy draw, he looks to be the one that they all have to beat. ALL STARR COURAGE steps up to six furlongs, but he was staying on over the latter stages of his last outing over five furlongs and could threaten the former. PIMPPOINT makes this debut here, but he has had encouraging five barrier trials and will jump from gate two. If not too green, he could be involved in the finish. SUMMER LOVER is a 3yr old filly taking on males and has a very wide draw to overcome, but she likes to race up with the pace and could use her early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy.

Race 3
I AM A HIT finished just one and a half lengths behind the winner last time out over seven furlongs. He starts from a mid-field draw and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, he should be right up there when they hit the line. BUCKS was beaten 0.4L when making his debut over six furlongs. He attracted betting support that day and would have learnt from the experience. With the natural improvement that can be expected, he should pose a threat to the top selection. He does have a wide draw to contend with, but he could be doing his best work late. DUKEBOX GEORGE, on the other hand, has drawn gate two. He tries the seven furlongs today, but could be looking for this type of distance. JET JACKSON is unfortunately drawn the widest of them all, but with his natural speed from the jump, he may be able to trouble the top three selections.

Race 4
YULONG SOLDIER has finished third in both his first two starts and showed improvement when stepping up in trip to nine furlongs last time out. He takes another hike in distance which should be to his liking. TRALEE ROSE is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys and is drawn one from the outside. She also takes on the extra trip, but she should nevertheless be respected in this line-up. REBEL EXCELL has a wide draw to negotiate, but finished just 1.3L behind last time out over ten furlongs and should not be overlooked here. DEPARTING BULLET is yet another who try’s further. He likes to race up with the leaders and should be staying on over the latter stages.

Race 5
JUKILA showed marked improvement when winning last time out over 2700M. He was friendless in the betting market that day and should have no issue with the drop in distance here. BONVILLE also improved in his last start over ten furlongs and a repeat of that effort should see him right up there in the mix. SET US FREE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she was only beaten a short-head last time out over ten furlongs and should put in another honest performance today. ANGEL ROCK is a 3yr old filly with a wide draw, but if her penultimate outing over twelve furlongs is disregarded, she would be a runner here.

Race 6
VLADIVOSTOK has finished second in his last two outings over this distance and will be hoping to go one better today. He was firmly backed last time out and from his mid-field draw, he should be right up there in the firing line. KING KABUTO put in a solid last effort over seven furlongs and gets the blinkers re-fitted for today’s run. He will also start from pole position and could be the biggest danger to the former. CONSTANT FLOW steps up in distance, but has a handy draw and will get 4kg taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. HERMAN’S BELLS was beaten a head last time out over this distance and should be respected in this field.

Race 7
GALACTIC EXPRESS is seldom too far off the action and a repeat of his effort three runs back over the distance would make him one of the leading contenders here. WHITEMORE was beaten 0.9L in his last outing over the seven furlongs and should be included in all bets. MOLLY MAGIC is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she recorded her maiden victory last time out over six furlongs. She takes on stronger here, but may well be up to the task on hand. SMOKINHARD is a 3yr old filly who returns from a 24-week break. She is drawn wide at gate twelve, but if she is able to repeat her penultimate run when winning over this trip, she should be considered here.

Race 8
MAGNESIUM ROSE is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she has consistent formlines over this trip to her credit. She has pulled pole position and gets the blinkers re-fitted for today’s run. CHASE AWARD has also posted consistent form, but given that he is drawn thirteen, the former is just preferred. PILL BOX is drawn at gate six and was only beaten a head last time out over six furlongs. LANSBROOK has his first run since a 16-week rest, during which time he was gelded. He followed up his last victory over this distance with a fair effort next time out over the same trip before taking the break. If not needing the outing, he should be respected here.

Race 9
BLACK OPAL won his penultimate start over 1100M and then finished a head behind next time out over five furlongs. He jumps from gate two and will be aided by having 4kg removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. WIND FORCE drops back to five furlongs after three runs over 1100M. He is a speedy sort who may prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages of the contest. GHOST DOCTOR returns from a 14-week rest. He also drips in distance after finishing two lengths behind in his last outing over 1100M and can’t be lightly dismissed here. EL SICARIO is seldom too far off the action and gets a mid-field draw. The blinkers get re-fitted today and he should be one for the shortlist.
